Good Evening,

A quick update from me today, firstly a heads up on some other big updates coming later this week regarding FTS and second, some changes to the After Action Report system.

General Update on FTS

Today I have restricted access to Skill Cards other than your own until a Major Update regarding the Future Training System, which is due to be released in the next 48 hours - so be on the look out for that. This will update you all on the results of the Anti-vehicle implementation as well as some major system updates to how FTS works as we prepare to move Marksmanship and Medical to the Future Training System and we take the learnings forward from Anti-vehicle.

For this and other reasons, the grace period for Anti-vehicle has been extended by another 45 days as it was due to end tomorrow.

Changes to After Action Reports

The factor system has provided some much needed context to the wider unit in what went well and what didn't across our deployments. To help this further, we've built on the feedback of our Field Leaders and Mission Support teams to make some changes to the system. Note that we do have some medium term plans to make the process of selecting and submitting factors much easier, so more on that soon.

Firstly, when you next fill in an AAR you'll notice we've provided some more context around what to use the comment field for. We've also put some realtime statistics in the footer that show you what % of factors have comments and we've set a little target for the unit to reach 20%, so please - do help us get there!

Second - we've added some better visual feedback for our AAR readers (Field Leaders and Lead Game Masters) which better visualises the positive and negative contributions of a factor.

Next, we've also added the ability for the reviewers to rate the comments based on their constructiveness with a simple thumbs up, thumbs down system. We're planning on publishing to you the overall constructiveness of your comments in the future as well. Not only does this acknowledge that your comments are being taken on board, but also if you need to, perhaps - word them differently!

As I'm sure you saw above, the ability to report a comment also returns, doing so will raise a report with Personnel Command, you can provide a comment or reason as well. Reporting a comment isn't just for negative comments, it could be that you really appreciate the contribution, or perhaps it contains information which you think needs looking into. Once reported, Personnel Command will be able to identify the author and will investigate it as any other report.

That said - and unlike my example above, please do not abuse the report button.

If you previously reported a comment, it will be visible at any other time that you open it.

Here's an example of what Personnel Command will see, when a comment is reported (again, just for example)

In future, this means we'll be able to provide a rating next to every AAR in future, based on how constructive their comments have been in the past, while still maintaining the anonymous nature of the comments.

These updates are fully backwards compatible, so if you have been a Field Leader or Lead Game Master in the past and would like to go back and rate comments or report them then you can do so.

As a general note, please do ensure all comments you leave are constructive and remember that the readers don't know your name, role or callsign you were in, so any context you can give to your comments is always appreciated.

I look forward to updating you in a couple of days on the Future Training System and we'll have further updates soon on the ORGCOC Summer Selection and the Annual Survey Results.
