FM/G49 - Activity, Discharge & Participation

FM/BP-230 - Activity Policy: Regular, Reserve, and Inactive Status
Policy

UNITAF members hold an Activity Status managed by their chain of command. The statuses are:

  • Regular: Deployed within the last 30 days
  • Reserve: Deployed within 30-60 days
  • Inactive: Deployed 60+ days

Regular and Reserve members retain full access to UNITAF services. Inactive members do not have access to UNITAF services.

FM/BP-231 - Re-activation of Inactive Members
Policy

Inactive members who have been Discharged for more than a month can apply for re-activation through a re-induction process, which comprises of:

  • Eligibility check via Dossier review
  • A re-induction covering:
    • Update on changes in UNITAF
    • Assistance with any questions
    • Re-ranking if necessary
    • Re-activation of membership

To re-activate, inactive members must login to the website and select the appropriate option to trigger the request.

FM/BP-232 - Leave for Extended Circumstances
Policy

Members can apply for leave in exceptional circumstances, retaining full permissions and access during the leave period. 

  • Leave is temporary and must have a definite end date, with a review following its end. 
  • Intended for active service members or unexpected IRL breaks.

FM/BP-234 - Being Present on Discord
Policy

If you leave the UNITAF discord server you will be automatically discharged from UNITAF under standard discharge terms. If this happens in error, or you need to change the discord account associated with your UNITAF account you should contact Personnel Command for rectification.

FM/BP-609 - Retirement
Policy

Members who go inactive are discharged unless they apply for an Honourable Discharge. Retirement is a status reserved for those with significant contributions to the unit and no major conduct issues and this assessment is made by Unit Command on a case by case basis. Retired members retain access to most UNITAF services and can continue participating in UNITAF activities, denoted by (Ret.) appended to their rank.
