--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
British heavy armour rumbles up to the North-West sector of the region supported by aircraft to link up with a Royal Marines platoon preparing to secure the last pocket of Russian resistance in Virolatie. Russian military presence in the region has suffered blow after blow from coalition forces, heavily supported by UNITAF operatives. They are still holding out in the North-West, bringing reinforcements from adjacent regions and determined to keep a foothold in the Virolatie region. The purpose of this mission is to break their resolve once and for all, liberating the region from occupying forces.

Friendly Forces
Heavy Royal Marine platoon supported by an MBT section and covered by several aircraft from the RAF.

Supporting Assets
Finnish resistance cells are known to operate in/ around your AO. They are aware that we will be conducting an operation to secure the N/W of the territory, and though they have been warned of the danger, it is likely they will be eager to help in the defence of their homeland. Be wary of friendly forces near their operating locations, and if you come across Finnish resistance forces do your best to ensure their safety.

Enemy Forces
Russian heavy armour has moved in to help cover their last supply route. Russian army regulars are depleted but have regrouped around key locations in the AO, determined to stop a coalition assault. A Russian airborne (VDV) division has begun to ferry troops and resources into the region in an effort to retain their final foothold- enemy supporting aircraft are likely.

Mission

Tasking
Deploying from COP Berlin, the primary tasking of this mission is to move North and dismantle any Russian resistance that is encountered, pushing to the two COPs the enemy are trying to build up after the loss of their main military assets around the N-E airbase. The enemy are expected to try to dig in with makeshift positions and ambushes around favourable terrain expected. The assets we are bringing along should help to negate any defensive advantage the enemy may have. Objective Ares is a facility- the purpose of which remains unknown- which has recently seen a lot of activity. It may be that the forces stationed there are packing up in an effort to hide the facility's true purpose in the face of coalition advance- if we can determine the purpose of the facility it will assist with clean-up operations. Once the fate of Russian defenders becomes all but certain, troops may rout or surrender. Any enemy combatant fleeing or surrendering to coalition forces *MUST* be treated fairly and with dignity. Transport any CPERS to friendly positions/ LOGPOINTs to be ferried further into friendly territory. Primary Tasking -Secure COP Lima -Secure COP November -Secure COP Oscar -Secure MSR Iso Tie & Checkpoint Kilo -Secure OBJ Ares and determine its purpose Secondary Tasking -Secure Patrol Camp Mike -Secure any intelligence left behind by enemy forces to assist clean-up operations -Secure any surrendering enemy troops and safely escort them to friendly positions

End-state
Once final enemy positions are secured, ENDEX may be conducted in the field or back at base after airborne transit.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The intent of this mission is to neutralise the remaining Russian forces in Virolahti by pushing from COP Berlin to the northernmost limits. In doing so, the Russians will have no further presence in the region.

Tasks and Sequencing
Throughout the mission, Lightning provides air superiority and Hawk callsigns provide reconnaissance. Should Hawk spot any anti-air autocannons or any other direct threats to self-preservation, they are free to engage. Any other threats should be communicated with King for further consideration.

Stage 1

Knight and Rook callsigns move east from COP Berlin with the support of Hammer to prepare assault of COP Lima. Knight will, when ready, assault COP Lima from AP Arho, with Rook engaging any ground-based armoured threats. Hawk reports of any incoming QRF, engaging them early if deemed of equal or larger force than what Knight and Rook collectively can safely engage. Hawk may also engage enemy armour in figures 04-12 and 05-12. This objective is to be cleared as quickly as possible. The key here is speed and manoeuvrability.

Stage 2

Knight and Rook continue Northwest to MSR Iso Tie towards AP Bergman, assaulting Checkpoint Kilo from the Southeast. Structures should be cleared by Knight. MSR Iso Tie is expected to be heavily defended, so all elements are asked to progress with speed and aggression whilst maintaining good security.

Stage 3

The company continues Northwest-bound to AP Crusell, preparing and executing an assault of Objective Ares. Due to the unknown nature of this objective, elements are asked to pay extra attention to potential sources of intelligence remaining in the area after it has been secured. The following two photos were taken by Finnish resistance scouts. It appears the Russians have constructed three domes in total at Objective Ares, protected by at least one defensive fortification to the East. The entrance to this compound has been reported to be pointing Eastwards. Photos are taken from the South-Southeast.

Stage 4

The company continues Northwest-bound to AP Damström, preparing and executing an assault of Patrol Camp Mike.

Stage 5

The company continues North-bound to AP Englund, preparing and executing an assault of COP November. Note the red cross on the tent in the photo underneath. All elements are asked to be particularly careful maintaining laws of armed conflict.

Stage 6

The company continues West-bound to AP Fagerlund, preparing and executing an assault of COP Oscar. At this point, elements should take particular care to not engage any members of the resistance cell, which is known to operate just west of COP Oscar.
