--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationRecent intel suggests IS has been building up a force in Arobster and Afsher; YNA were pushed out of the area a couple of weeks prior to our arrival in the region. Civilian exodus from the towns has confirmed our suspicion that a large attack is imminent; 75th ranger element is tasked with pushing IS out before they can fully mobilise, securing several abandoned YNA garrison locations located in the towns.
Friendly Forces
1x Motorised ranger Company with logistics and CMTs attached Air wing: 2x AH-6M little birds
Supporting Assets
Small YNA force present on a nearby patrol base.
Enemy Forces
IS are expected to use different compounds as depots and civilian buildings are barracks. VBIEDs, technicals, modified armoured vehicles, APCs and IFVs expected in the AO. Pressure plated IEDs and mines are not expected.
Mission
TaskingMain objectives: - Clear out all IS presence from Arobster - Retake garrison E - limit infrastructure damage Secondary objectives: - Clear out all IS presence from Afsher - Clear outpost 1
End-state
After clearing as many markes objectives as possible, endex in Garrison E.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe intent of this mission is to clear the main urban area of the town of Arobster and clear out a local abandoned FOB in order to repurpose it for ourselves. Time allowing, the adjacent town of Afsher may also be secured.
Tasks and Sequencing
Throughout the operation, operating distance between both platoons will remain relatively close. This will allow for mutual support should it be required, but will also mean that operatives must take care to PID targets. Platoons will attempt to remain relatively parallel but the nature of the AO means that sometimes this may not be possible, so friendly callsigns may be just ahead of you in their sector. Phase 1 will consist of transit from FOB Fracture to dismounts Gold and Silver for platoons Able and Baker respectively, with Able being responsible for the north side of the AO and Baker the south. From FOB Fracture, Coy will transit in convoy (order designated at the bottom of this OPORD) before splitting between Route Yellow (Able Plt) and Route Blue (Baker Plt). Once the AA threat has been neutralized in A, Dragonfly will be on standby for CAS and aerial recon. Coy command and support sections Blacksmith and Vigil will maintain a distanced defensive posture around the Coy OPs until a foothold in the town has been secured. Phase 2 will continue clearance of the garrisons and urban area. Able platoon may be directed to cover part of Baker's sector for their own safety due to the relatively open terrain Able need to cross to reach the urban area. At this point maintaining a parallel between the platoons may not be feasible. Blacksmith and Vigil remain on standby for required taskings, but are to set up LRP Riddler in/ around Garrison A. Phase 3 contains the heaviest section of urban sprawl. Platoons will both continue their East - West push, on the North side securing Garrison D and the Factory. Baker may be requested for support should it be necessary once they reach phase line 3-5. Blacksmith are to move their LRP to Garrison C where it will be designated LRP Joker. Phase 4 will include a regroup and push to Garrison E, and- time permitting- include transit to the town of Afsher for Phase 5 of clearing Afsher. Planning for this phase along with phase 5 will be heavily dependent on time available and enemy forces, thus will be disseminated closer to the time.
