Situation
Background InformationUS Rangers undertake the final push to secure Shegamar valley, providing a solid basis for control of the centre of the region

Infantry and Armoured assets expected. Enemy fire support likely. Reports of civilians being used as shields against air support IEDs expected.
Mission
TaskingKilo platoon is tasked with taking FOB Mikis and the IS stronghold to the north in order to secure the valley. Enemy military depots and defensive positions to be taken/ destroyed along the way.
End-state
Shegamar Valley secure and IS routed.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe intent of this mission is to finally complete the clearance of Shegamar Valley, sweeping through several key enemy positions to the North side of the valley.
Tasks and Sequencing
Simply, the platoon will proceed North out from GreenCampBase mounted in integrated MRAP transport vehicles. Kilo 1 and Kilo 2 will focus on clearing the East side of the dried riverbed- moving along and clearing any urban areas in the valley to root out any IS presence and equipment. Kilo 1 will focus on the leftmost/ westernmost side of the advance with Kilo 2 on the rightmost/ easternmost side. Kilo 3 will have several assigned OPs to operate with flexibility to find the best supporting position from which to assist Kilo 1 and Kilo 2. As they are also a motorised element they will be able to manoeuvre between OPs rapidly or move closer to assist another element if required. Longbow will operate an Apache gunship for longer range recce and destruction of priority targets. Lima and Mike will be tasked through PltSgt Kilo 8 to taskings as required by infantry elements. Specific taskings will be updated at STARTEX due to technical issues with HQ map tools.
