--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationAn unidentified vessel has docked in Al-Tabqah as of last night, with no effort to communicate it's intentions while it was in international waters. The port has been put in lockdown, the ship has no identification on it and all efforts to survey the area by air have been thwarted by adverse weather conditions. You are infiltrating the harbor under the cover of darkness to defuse the sea mines protecting the entrance into the bay and to board the vessel, recover any intelligence related to its purpose and exfil out of the area.
Friendly Forces
Due to the MARSOC Raiders being in quarantine from the incident in Incirkli last week, we are deploying the Marine Division Recon off the coast of Al-Rayak to deal with this mission. A team of 10 Marine Combatant Divers will be supported by "USS Missouri" , a Virginia-class attack submarine, that will serve as their staging point in order to launch the operation, and their rendezvous point at the end of the mission, alongside being the launching point for 2 Combat Rubber Raiding Craft to be used for insertion and extraction into the port of Al-Tabqah.
Enemy Forces
From our observations, and intelligence we have of the area, the enemy forces are most likely to consist of Takistani Naval personnel that are attached as auxiliary security forces to all naval installations in the region, as well as the Takistani Police Department reinforced with the personnel from the newly formed Counter Intelligence Bureau, no doubt due to the importance of the vessel codenamed "Gambit" or whatever it is transporting. The biggest factor to this equation as of right now is the presence of unknown personnel that appears to be attached to the “Gambit” as a part of close protection detail. The allegiance of said personnel is unknown at this time, however their interaction with the Takistani personnel is friendly, so they should be seen as and treated as OPFOR. Due to the inclement weather, you are very unlikely to face any air assets, sea assets, and the location of the enemy forces makes it unlikely to face any vehicle assets outside of logistical vehicles inside or around the port itself.
Mission
TaskingThe task and purpose of this operation is to infiltrate the Al-Tabqah Port in an effort to completely dismantle and/or defuse the naval minefield protecting the access into the port by defusing moored sea mines on the entrance into the bay, in an effort to prepare the area for a full-scale invasion should direct military action by conventional forces be necessary in the near future. Your main objective, however, is to gauge the capabilities and purpose of an unidentified vessel, codename “Gambit” that has docked into the Al-Tabqah western terminal, seeing as its arrival has prompted a complete lockdown of the entire harbor with a cessation of all inbound and outbound traffic in the harbor.
End-state
Once you have determined the purpose of the vessel, you are to act accordingly upon the discretion of the unit commander, and upon completion of all objectives, you are to exfiltrate back to USS Missouri and prepare for debriefing.
