Situation
Background InformationAn airborne ANA platoon has been tasked with assaulting the mountainous corridor that divides the US front line from ANA troops in the far east...
Friendly Forces
[1x] Infantry Platoon [1x] Armed Mi-8 [1x] Unarmed Mi-8 [1x] A-29 Super Tucano
Supporting Assets
US forces are conducting their own assault on the enemy anti-aircraft emplacements to the west of our AO.
Enemy Forces
The enemy force comprises primarily of infantry, supported by multiple static emplacements, camps, IFV/APCs and potentially MBTs.
Mission
TaskingHotel platoon is tasked with outflanking and assaulting enemy positions that have been hammering friendly forces from the north and obstructing resupply and aerial assistance.
End-state
Enemy forces and emplacements destroyed, including a potential Taliban HQ located in the center of the mountainous valleys.
Execution
Commander's IntentThis mission aims to identify and destroy Taliban positions in the mountains, and the suspected stronghold of the valley, northwest of FOB Diyah. This serves to secure FOB Diyah as staging grounds for further deployments in the area.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS less EAGLE prepare to embark from Camp Dilshad via heliborne insertion. EAGLE prepares their A-29 from the North Airport. Departure must make an immediate right turn. Straight-out departure risks running into AA emplacements. PHASE 1 The GCE inserts to LZ Alpha to deploy in travelling overwatch bound southwest. Eagle establishes a loitering recce orbit to spot Taliban emplacements and movements. Hotel manoeuvres as per the intel provided by Eagle, supplemented by Mike. Throughout, Mike covers the platoon with precision fire. HOTEL 2 splits to WP 2-1 as temporary base of fire, staging for a movement south through the valley into Yaprak. Town Yaprak is known Taliban-aligned and garrisoned and must be cleared. HOTEL remainder moves along the ridge to further clear and provide security to 2. GCE rendezvous for LZ Bravo. PHASE 2 Hotel call signs redeploy to LZ Charlie. Platoon forms a platoon line facing north to move along the valley towards Wadiyah bounding in a movement to contact. All identified Taliban locations on the way must be decisively engaged and cleared. Hotel 1 on the right flank splits to clear Wadiyah. Hotel remainder continues a bounding movement further up the valley west of Wadiyah for flank security. 1 rejoins such that the platoon engages the final suspected camp out north.
