Situation

Background Information
Having regrouped and reinforced at FOB Mikis. Kilo Platoon, supported by two Bradleys and an A-10, continue into Shegamar Valley to remove IS once and for all.

Mission

Tasking
Kilo platoon is tasked with capturing the remaining IS occupied territory within Shegamar valley. Once secure, they will push out of the Valley to secure the roads Northwards to prevent any IS counter attacks.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to finally complete our sweep of Shegamar Valley, dismantling any IS positions found at the Northern end of the valley. Once complete, we will push out and deal with several key IS positions spotted to the North and North-West of Shegamar Valley and FOB Bushlurker.

Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 0 -Transit to AO Shepherd from FOB Nazeem mounted within integrated infantry transport Kilo, India push to Dismount Bronze, infantry to dismount in preparation for Phase 1. Mike, Lima to RV at FOB Mikis. From here and moving forward they will organise LRPs and CCPs as required and communicate these to platoon. Phase 1 -Combat patrol through the uncleared sector of town Mikisfob toward obj P1- an IS stronghold [KILO, INDIA] -Assault and clearance of P1 [KILO 1, KILO 2] -Sweep of uncleared road for IEDs [KILO 3] Kilo 3 to focus on safety of the MSR as they will be moving along it during next phase. Kilo 1 and Kilo 2 will clear P1 together, with the first point squad entering the compound, clearing ancillary buildings then holding security whilst second squad in clears main structure. Phase 2 -Rapid approach then assault and clearance of P2- Kunara [KILO 1, KILO 2] -Sweep of Northern approach road toward Sec C wherein enemy activity has been noted by HUMINT; clearance of Sec C & D [KILO 3] -Assault and clearance of P3- FOB Abbas [KILO 3] KILO 1 and KILO 2 will proceed along a separate route to KILO 3 with the intent of hitting the South side of Kunara's first sectors. Whilst Kilo 1 and 2 are stuck into clearing out the main sectors of Kunara, Kilo 3 clears North then redeploys after sec D to clear FOB Abbas. Phase 3 -Transit to next part of AO around town of Karift [KILO, INDIA] -Assault and clearance of S1- another IS Stronghold [TBD] -Assault and clearance of S2- Karift [TBD] Most of the area from Kunara to Karift is either civilian or empty. IS may try the occasional harassing attack through the gap between towns but expected to be light. Platoon will travel together toward Zhapir and attack S1 and S2 from the South, with India providing support from a standoff at either of the flanking MSRs. Zhapir and Shoran are both civilian population centres so caution to be exercised. Endex to be conducted at FOB Bushlurker.
