--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationIn preparation for our next assault towards the city of Beketov, a reconnaissance patrol is tasked with determining enemy strength near Groznovo and Rylovo. They are also to place mines to limit enemy movement along the MSR between COP Labela and Beketov, and hit any targets of opportunity that present themselves before the attack.
Friendly Forces
Reconnaissance patrol: BAKER - 1 x Squad-sized element with attached demolitions expert.
Supporting Assets
A company-sized attack towards the city of Beketov should commence approximately as the reconnaissance patrol is exfiltrating the area. Friendly artillery is also on stand-by for tasking if required.
Enemy Forces
Confirmed mechanised infantry unit in town of Dorogino. Suspected mechanised and motorised infantry in the towns of Limonovo and Gavrilovka. Suspected artillery battery west of Groznovo. Enemy presence possible in Groznovo proper and Rylovo, no current intel available.
Mission
TaskingAttempt to verify enemy presence or otherwise in Groznovo and Rylovo. - Priorities are unit size, equipment, readiness, best approaches to position for units assaulting from east - Observations are to be radioed up as soon as practical to allow for last-minute adjustments to assaulting company's plans Prevent movement along MSR between Rylovo and Dorogino by mining road Destroy enemy artillery battery in vicinity of Groznovo if present. Destroy any targets of opportunity if able to do so safely in hopes of pulling enemy forces out of position before attack is started.
End-state
Baker squad has extracted north towards friendly territory, with any artillery in Groznovo area destroyed and MSR mined. If this is not feasible, escape and evade east-south-east into wooded area south of MSR until friendlies move through area and provide safe route back to friendly territory.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this operation is to conduct preparatory reconnaissance and key target elimination to assist with a full company offensive towards Beketov. Should the opportunity present itself, higher command has authorized Baker Squad to initiate an ambush on rear forces to breakup front line defenses. Being compromised before achievement of recon and key target elimination objectives will result in mission failure.
