--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationKnowing that the mission is most likely a one way trip, the elements of Sokolovi Battalion, B Coy, are going ahead in executing a daring plan to cut a vital supply route between Beketov and and the airbase at Malye Kuptsy. At the same time, an Airborne platoon will drop south of Monakhovo to attempt to capture the two bridges, an arty base and anti-air position around the Treshka river. If both elements are successful, the main airbase and the rest of the area across the Treshka river will be cut-off from resupply.
Friendly Forces
1x Mechanized Platoon with; 2x Pandur II APC 1x M1025 1x repair and ressupply M1025
Supporting Assets
The old tollbooth has been converted into a police checkpoint. It is unknown if the police force is collaborating with the occupying force as such, any encountered police officer should be urged to either move north into friendly lines or return to Beketov. An Airborne platoon is attempting the same on the two crossings south of the Airbase.
Enemy Forces
Recent UAV reconnaissance shows that the enemy is curently in-progress of building defensive fortifications on the south bank of the Treshka river, north of the MSR connecting Beketov and the main airbase near Malye Kuptsy, as well as to the east of Armanihka. The west bank of the river is heavily mined at the 3 shallow crossings and the two most western road crossings show no activity. It should be noted, that the village of Bolshie Kuptsy was heavily bombarded during the invasion, but UAV footage shows, that the trenchline to the south of the village has been completly removed. UAV also spoted infantry supported by APCs and IFVs in FOBs at two locations as well as a logistical base just norht of the petrol station. The enemy will not expect us to hit them here, as such the initial assault should not encounter much resistance, but once the enemy realizes whats going on, we can expect the full force to attempt to re-take the bridge.
Mission
TaskingTaking and holding the main MSR connecting Beketov and the main airbase near Malye Kuptsy.
End-state
If the bridge has been sucesfully held, the platoon will be reinforced by the rest of the company. If the bridge can't be held, the platoon is to break contact and move back north east across the river.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to cut the strategically important supply route along P-148 between Beketov and the airbase near Malye Kuptsy. This is part of a larger scheme intended to deprive the enemy in the Beketov region of further reinforcement and resupply. We will secure an area around a bridge where the river Treshka forks, and hold this against all enemy counter attack while follow up units move in.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 The platoon will be formed up in convoy at Mikhalevo, before departing to a dropoff in enemy territory close to the objectives. Blacksmith will be providing initial transport for Lightning 1 and 2 into the AO. We will take a route along a dry riverbed in order to avoid detection along enemy held roads. PHASE 1 The infantry squads will advance SouthWest at speed in order to cross the river and penetrate the partially constructed trenchlines. Once firmly across, 1st squad will clear South, clearing the enemy logistical base and FOB as priority targets with support from Reaper. 2nd squad will push West to secure the military checkpoint and the bridge. PHASE 2 With the SouthEast bank of the river Treshka secure, 2nd squad will be tasked to cross Westwards to secure the town of Armanikha and the FOB located therein. They will cooperate with Reaper for all transport and fire support requirements they may have. At this point the enemy is likely to have begun dispatching QRF. For this reason, 1st squad will remain on the East bank, going firm in the best available defensive positions to cover the MSR P-148 from Beketov, the most likely avenue of enemy reinforcements. PHASE 3 With military targets either side of the bridge neutralised, we will enter a defensive disposition to hold out while follow up elements arrive to relieve us and continue the fight.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyUpon dropping Lightning at the designated drop-off, Blacksmith will RTB to change personnel transports for trucks loaded for battlefield repairs and resupply. They will then be on standby to provide logistical support throughout, to be coordinated through Lightning 8.
