Situation

Background Information
3 Commando Brigade continues a dawn assault on rebel forces under moderate fog supported by the HMS Invincible, with assistance from remaining Ritmoan loyalist forces. While sister platoon Longsword is rescuing besieged Loyalist forces and securing the strategic towns south of the peninsula, Our light infantry platoon, callsign Anvil is tasked with a rapid assault on Rebel forces who have captured the city of Arnoldstein, having evacuated civilians to a nearby refugee camp and additionally taken over Drulovka Army Depot from the neighbouring island, giving them access to a wide range of soviet equipment. Longword, having managed to establish a combat outpost at COP Meteor are primed to prevent rebel reinforcements from accessing the peninsula from the south.

Friendly Forces

Enemy Forces
Rebels consist of paramilitary civilians and professional deserters. They are equipped with Soviet-era weapons. The exact source of these weapons is under investigation. Rebel General Asher "The Bull" Moi is expected to be present in the AO


Mission

Tasking
Anvil callsign is tasked with landing on the encircled peninsula, then clear the entire AO pushing eastwards. Main objectives are: OBJ-A - Assault the rebel held army depot, search and destroy surface to air missile systems OBJ-B - Capture eastern-port and search manifests for evidence of foreign arms suppliers OBJ-C - Capture hangars and runway, disable rebel communications system OBJ-D - Capture Arnoldstein, locate and arrest Rebel General Asher "The Bull" Moi Important to note: Asher "The Bull" Moi, one of the leaders of the rebellion is expected to be present in the AO, based on previous intel. He cannot be allowed to leave.

End-state
Mission Success: Peninsula and major objectives under our control, "The Bull" captured. Mission Failure: Anvil repelled or "The Bull" escaped.


Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to reclaim the encircled peninsula from rebel control, neutralize their advanced capabilities by targeting strategic assets, and gather evidence on external support provided to them. A critical component of this operation is the capture of the key figure, Rebel General Asher "The Bull" Moi, ensuring he does not escape our grasp. The end state sees the peninsula and its strategic points under our control, with "The Bull" captured and detained, ensuring the stability and security of the region and preventing further escalation and external interference.

Tasks and Sequencing
ANVIL 1 and ANVIL 2 should expect to move West to East through Objectives Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. while ANVIL 3 after providing initial base-of-fire on Objective Alpha, should expect to be airlifted to COP Meteor to commence a southern assault, mining roads and eventually capturing Objective Charlie before assisting with a Delta encirclement. Insertion: ANVIL 1 and ANVIL 2 will be transported to OBJ-A via Blacksmith 4 using RHIBs, considering the short distance between the two islands. Their landing will be conducted under the overwatch of ANVIL 3 positioned in the bay. The intent is to swiftly neutralize any immediate threats at the landing zone and establish a foothold on the peninsula. Assault on OBJ-A: ANVIL 1 will launch their assault from the North West flank of OBJ-A, while ANVIL 2 will commence their assault from the South West. This pincer movement aims to trap the rebel forces within, ensuring a swift and decisive capture of the army depot, and the subsequent neutralization of surface-to-air missile systems. Wirecutters are essential equipment for both callsigns, to gain quick entry to the perimeter. Airlift to COP METEOR: Once OBJ-A is secured and the AA threat has been eliminated, ANVIL 3 will be airlifted by Blacksmith 4 to COP METEOR. From there, they will be responsible for the Southern assault route, primarily mining roads to hinder rebel reinforcements and eventually moving to assist in the capture of OBJ-C. Continued Operations: ANVIL 1 will begin their advance towards OBJ-B, the eastern port. The exact approach, either through re-insertion or by maneuvering around the city, will be determined based on current intelligence and situation on the ground. Once at OBJ-B, their primary objective will be to search manifests for evidence of foreign arms suppliers. ANVIL 2 and ANVIL 3 will converge on and mutually support the capture of the hangars and runway at OBJ-C. While ANVIL 2 will primarily focus on disabling rebel communication systems, ANVIL 3, after their southern assault and mining operations, will provide the essential southern pressure, trapping any remaining rebels within OBJ-C. This mutual support aims to ensure swift and decisive control of the area. With objectives OBJ-A, OBJ-B, and OBJ-C under control, all ANVIL callsigns will proceed to encircle Arnoldstein (OBJ-D). This strategic envelopment is intended to trap and isolate the Rebel General, Asher "The Bull" Moi, ensuring he does not escape. Every effort must be made to secure "The Bull" alive during this phase, as capturing him is paramount to mission success.


Administration/Logistics

Resupply
Given the potential for intense urban combat in Arnoldstein (OBJ-D), units should consider pre-emptive checks on equipment prior to the final phase of the mission. While ANVIL 3 is conducting mining operations, it's essential they carry enough anti-vehicle mines to effectively block key routes, additional supplies can be airdropped on request by Blacksmith 4. Additionally, a limited number of anti-personnel mines might be considered to deter foot patrols or recon teams from bypassing the blockades. Resupply will be coordinated through the Platoon Sergeant and predominantly airdropped by Blacksmith 4. Given the potential AA threats early in the operation, before securing OBJ-A, aerial resupply will be limited. Once the AA threat is neutralized, aviation assets will be employed for faster resupply operations.

Medical
Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field), in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident, BLACKSMITH 4 may be used to facilitate MEDEVAC operations.

Rules of Engagement
EPWs should be searched immediately for weapons, intelligence, or any threat items. All medical needs of EPWs must be addressed. Ensure the prompt evacuation of EPWs by communicating with Platoon Command While the standard ROE is in effect, due to the urban setting of Arnoldstein (OBJ-D), and the expected presence of Rebel General Asher "The Bull" Moi, there is an emphasis on minimizing collateral damage and ensuring the safety of non-combatants. Civilian Presence: Non-combatants have been evacuated to a Refugee Camp north West of Arnoldstein (OBJ-D), for this reason, while possible - we do not expect a heavy civilian presence in Arnoldstein (OBJ-D). The use of grenades, heavy weapon systems and fire support is strictly forbidden within the area of the Refugee Camp and it should not be entered by friendly forces at this time.

Fire Support Plan
Naval gunfire is expected to be present in the area of operations as friendly warships may be used to suppress targets of importance, although this will be done in coordination with ANVIL 9
