--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationThe Omooteeschi airbase serves as a critical logistics hub and command center for the enemy in the region but it has a major flaw. Its located a significant distance away from Beketov and the main airbase, it's primary supply line being from outside of Kordun. This now presents us with an ideal situation to sieze the makeshift airbase and the surrounding villages to force the enemy inside Beketov. "Sokolovi" from the 1st Mechanized will therefore conduct an air assault to capture the airbase and the surrounding villages.
Friendly Forces
"Sokolovi" - A Company - 1st Mechanized Battalion: 2x Rifle squads supported by; - 2x MI-24G for close air support - 1x MI-8 for medical and logistical ressuply
Enemy Forces
Mechanized infantry supported by a tank battalion and helicopter close air support.
Mission
TaskingConduct an air assault to seize and secure the Omooteeschi airbase and its surrounding villages.
End-state
Omooteeschi airbase and its surrounding villages secured.
Execution
Commander's IntentCommanders intent is to conduct an aggressive airborne insertion just outside the airbase at Omooteeschi. The infantry will clear the airfield of enemy presence before pushing into the townships North. Air support will be provided throughout via a pair of MI-24G's. The initial maneouvre to the LZ's will be covered by drone strikes onto identified ground based AA, while enemy CAP is distracted and engaged elsewhere.
Tasks and Sequencing
Initial maneouvre will see all airframes pass East of the airbase over a heavily wooded area to minimise risk. Outlaw infantry teams will unload at the LZ chosen on final approach (primary or secondary), before commencing movement North towards sector A. Outlaw will proceed in turn to clear through sectors A -> G. A contains the airstrip and hangars. Here enemy air assets would be best destroyed while grounded. The large open spaces may prove a threat to Outlaw so air cover in this sector will need to be on point to eliminate long range threats. B consists of an FOB appended to the airbase, as well as the outskirts of Omooteeschi. The threat here will be from close quarters fighting and prepared enemy positions within the FOB itself. The FOB is a target of primary concern and should be swept for intelligence. C contains a communications base. This will be tasked to a single squad as the other will be required for D. Again a sweep for any intelligence recoverable is desirable. D is the bulk of the town of Omooteeschi. The fighting here will be house to house and street to street. Maintaining squad organisation through the advance will be key to avoiding heavy casualties in this sector. Ammunition stocks should be checked before and after this sector as it is expected to be resource intensive to push through. E is a former tractor workshop that has been converted into an enemy depot. F is the town of Vizovino. Similar tactics should be employed as in D. Again ammunition should be checked before and after to ensure reserves do not run dry. G is a large and open sector containing an enemy patrol base adapted from some farm buildings, and the village of Pyr'evo to the NorthEast. Titan will return along the same route to collect Xray and LOGPAK provided by Cyclops, after which it will be available for taskings related to such. The Venom and Reaper will provide constant air cover, taking turns to RTB in cases where they require resupply, repair or refuelling. Specific taskings and authorisations will be coordinated for Venom, Reaper and Titan through Outlaw 7. Sectors H and I are towns a fair distance out providing a moderate threat to our operation, which if time permits may be moved against and secured. All callsigns should bear in mind that this operation is taking place entirely behind enemy lines so complications may arise according to enemy action.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyLOGPAK will be provided by Cyclops and transported by Titan. Crates will be deposited for Outlaw, who upon finishing resupply will signal for Titan to retrieve them and return to Cyclops to recycle a fresh logistics load.
Medical
Xray will be on standby in Titan to provide emergency medical support. This can consist of them disembarking to provide immediate assistance, or casualties being embarked and lifted to safety to provide a longer term medical solution where resources on the ground cannot be diverted to support a CCP.
