--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
With the Belarussians disengaging, the Polish forces are to encircle Russians to the southeast by seizing Gieraltów.

Friendly Forces
JW3797 - 15th Mechanized Brigade/Platoon D "ARCHER".

Supporting Assets
US Army 3dSqdn 2CavRg in Nadbór will not assist with our mission.

Enemy Forces
Mostly Motor-Rifle Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Special Forces presence is plausible.

Mission

Tasking
ARCHER is tasked with creating a spearhead into weakened enemy lines, CAPTURE and DEFEND Gieraltów.

End-state
Gieraltów is secured, and BLUFOR's presence is established.

Execution

Commander's Intent
Exploit the void left by Belarussians' withdrawal by seizing Gieraltów and, by doing so, encircle Russian forces to the southeast.

Tasks and Sequencing

Concept of operations

Archer will pierce through Russian defences towards Gieraltów, for then to liberate the town. The operation will naturally fall into four phases: Undetected infiltration, surprising early defences, eliminating the military depot, seizing Gieraltów. During each of these phases, the two squads will alternate between having offensive and supportive roles, which should allow for all members to contribute whilst simultaneously maintaining combat effectiveness. This operation ends with the liberation of Gieraltów from Russian forces.

Scheme of Manoeuvre

Phase 1 Convoy order: A1, A9, A2 Movement: WP ALPHA, WP BRAVO, DISMOUNT CHARLIE Weapons orange Platoon moves from Assembly Area to dismount marker along the designated route. During movement ARCHER 1 takes point and scans our front for any dangers. Course of action upon being contacted in this phase is to immediately return suppressive fire, push out of the kill zone, and flank enemies with tasking to eliminate the threat. Once reaching dismount marker, ARCHER 1 assumes temporary security Eastwards, ARCHER 2 southwards, with the intention of promptly shifting to Phase 2. Phase 2 Weapons orange, turning green upon execution Movement: WP DELTA, RELEASE POINT ECHO, then: ARCHER 1: WP FOXTROT to ASLT HOTEL ARCHER 2: SUPPORT-BY-FIRE INDIA Squads move along pre-planned routes, with ARCHER 1 ARCHER 1 circling around first objective to hit and enter from the north / northeast. ARCHER 2 sets up good support by fire position west of the objective, taking care not to be detected. Once ARCHER 1 is ready to move in and has made the call on platoon net, ARCHER 2 initiates their suppressive fire and attracts OPFOR attention allowing ARCHER 1 to advance. IMMEDIATE ACTIONS ON OBJECTIVE ARE TO 1. Eliminate any opposition. 2. Check all structures. 3. Search for intel ARCHER 2 should take care during this phase to check their fire to prevent fratricide. ARCHER 2 may move incrementally closer to the objective if required, but should not enter the objective proper. Once the objective has been secured, defensive positions are to be assumed and ACE status checked. ARCHER 1 assumes security 180 Northeast, ARCHER 2 assumes security 180 south. Vehicles will be moved up in coordination with ARCHER 9 and ARCHER 6. Phase 3 Weapons orange, turning green upon initiation Movement: RELEASE POINT JULIETT, then: ARCHER 1: SUPPORT-BY-FIRE LIMA ARCHER 2: ASLT KILO The platoon moves to the release point together. At release point, AARCHER 1 moves east, and assumes a SBF position on the north side of the military depot. ARCHER 2 moves undetected southeast, with the intent of entering the compound through its western entrance. Once ARCHER 2 is ready to initiate, or ARCHER has been detected, the call is made on the net, and ARCHER 1 commences with suppressive fire with the intent of overwhelming the enemy. Positive identification must be exercised and coordination with ARCHER 2 must be ensured to avoid fratricide once ARCHER 2 enters. IMMEDIATE ACTIONS ON OBJECTIVE ARE TO 1. Eliminate any opposition. 2. Check all structures. 3. Search for intel Once the objective has been secured, defensive positions are to be assumed and ACE status checked. ARCHER 1 assumes security north side and ARCHER 2 on the south side. Vehicles will be moved up in coordination with ARCHER 9 and ARCHER 6. Phase 4 Weapons orange, turning green on initiation Movement: WP MIKE, WP NOVEMBER, to ORP OSCAR Archer platoon moves to the next dismount marker undetected. From there, ARCHER 1 moves as point eastwards in defilade, entering and clearing sector G1 where the distance between the tree line and buildings is at its narrowest. Before and during seizure of G1, ARCHER 2 follows and supports, observing their flanks and suppressing and eliminating any forces threatening ARCHER 1's offensive operations. Actions in each sector (offensive squad): 1. Eliminate any opposition. 2. Check all appropriate structures. 3. Search for intel 4. Call Sector clear. 5. Assume defensive posture. Actions in each sector (defensive squad): 1. Set up protective battle positions to protect offensive squad - coordinate with offensive squad wrt needs 2. Tend to own medical requirements 3. Tend to resupply needs 4. Plan offensive moves in next sector 5. Assist offensive squad with CASEVAC if required 6. Be ready to assume offensive duties once Sector is announced clear After G1, squads alternate in assuming the offensive role in the sectors following this order: G1 (A1) - G2 (A2) - G3 (A1) - Trenches (A2) - G4 (A1) - G5 (A2) - Military compound (A1) - G6 (A2) - G7 (A1) - G8 (A2). No two sectors will be taken simultaneously, and soldiers and leaders should remember the old combat adage "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." By the time we enter Gieraltow, we will have lost our factor of surprise, and focus should instead be on methodical progress and casualty reduction. This is how we will maintain momentum and keep pressuring the Russians. Once Gieraltów has been liberated, ENDEX at military compound. Should, for whatever reason, Gieraltów not be safe or mission not successful, alternative ENDEX positions will be, in order of preference, Military Depot and Nadbór Assembly Area.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
Vehicles should be filled with required mission sustenance at assembly area. Ammo bearers and assistants should bring enough supplies to sustain fellow soldiers during the seizure of each objective, up to and including defensive duties following successful seizure. No further logistical support should be expected. Action on reaching critical ammunition shortage is to fall back.

Medical
Temporary CCPs will be coordinated and led by Platoon Medic. If required, MEDEVAC back to Nadbór could be organised. Final decision to bodybag soldiers rests with Platoon Medic.

Rules of Engagement
EPWs are to be moved out of combat and searched per SOP, then handed over to Archer 9 for further processing.
