--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
We have lost contact with one of our flare ships and the pilots are MIA. Based on their last known location and flight path we have a good idea where they might be, but could use some additional information from the locals. However it’s known that the civilian population isn’t too happy to see us walking around, so it might be difficult to get anything from them. WARNING: we’re boots on the grounds and this is CV territory. So keep your eyes down for possible traps and up for patrols and ambushes.

Friendly Forces
1x Infantry Platoon 1x Armed Cavalry UH-1 Huey 1x MERT Cavalry UH-1 Huey

Supporting Assets

Enemy Forces
Light Infantry. Anti-Tank Infantry.

Mission

Tasking
Try to get as close as possible to a small village and interrogate the local population for useful information about the crash site and possible location of the pilots, if they’re still alive. Find the pilots and extract them back to base, and if possible kill or destroy whatever took their bird down.

End-state
Mission will end once the crash pilots have been located and secured. Alive is the desired state though may not be possible.

Execution

Commander's Intent
UNITAF will conduct a Search and Rescue followed by a Search and Destroy mission to rescue downed friendly pilots and take out the AA which downed them. To assist in locating the pilots we will question local villagers near the area we lost communications with the aircraft. We need the locals on-side for this so troops are reminded to think of hearts and minds.

Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 1 Upon hitting the ground at LZ Grace Of God (Primary LZ); Tango 1 will take point along the route to Objective Able before going firm at the village to secure the Northern side of the river and support Tango 2. Tango 2 will move to clear Objective Able upon the platoon reaching the village, and will conduct questioning whilst respecting the local residents' right to land. Phase 2 Tango platoon pushes off in the direction of Objective Baker along planned movement routes. Tango 1 approaches via the West of Baker and Tango 2 the South of Baker. Once in position, assault on known enemy hardened position commences. Troops to keep in mind the potential for POWs to be in the camp and to watch fire for non-combatants and friendlies approaching the POW Camp. Any POWs to be rescued and exfiltrated from LZ King. If pilots are not present, Tango will search West of Baker and along the MSR. Phase 3 Tango platoon to assault enemy settlement and AA installation in the area. Primary target is the AA installation to improve chances of calling in CAS on hardened enemy positions. Tango 1 will take responsibility for the West of Phon Phi, and Tango 2 the East. Once town cleared of hostile resistance, Tango will secure an LZ and RTB for ENDEX.
