Situation

Background Information
Following the establishment of FARP Dale on the eastern front of the ISIS Held City of Kalea Nuewi, a letter written by a village elder has been brought to our FOB. It reads: "Greetings Americans. I am Elder Masood. I am reaching out to your people with great distress due to a recent situation my town has been put into. We are currently in a dire situation where ISIS are forcing us to co-operate with their destruction of our beautiful lands otherwise they'll kill my whole town. Recently ISIS stole a group of assets from the Russian Military in the area and Russia are currently searching for them. The assets have been hidden in my town and I fear if Russia find out about these assets they may butcher my whole town in efforts to reclaim or destroy the assets. We are holding some advanced Anti-Air systems that were stolen a few days ago as well as some Russian prisoners of war which ISIS plan to execute tomorrow evening. With all my will I beg that you send troops to come and help, I do not guarantee your safety from an ISIS attack as some of my people have fully pledged themselves to ISIS and it is likely that they will contact surrounding forces about your presence."

Friendly Forces
A large platoon with support from weapons squads.

Supporting Assets
As far as we know SNA, SNP, Armed Civilians, and possible Russians in the area.

Enemy Forces
FOOT SOLDIERS NON-STANDARDIZED TECHNICAL VEHICLES IMPROVISED COMBAT VEHICLES VBIEDS MBTS

Mission

Tasking
The unit is to go by foot from FARP Duke towards the town of Tunkuf. We have been informed civilians in this town are armed (the village elder has informed us that his town is against Islamic State's motive though cannot guarantee every single one is in the same mindset.) The elder wants to meet our top leader and tell them about the situation. We are under strict orders not to go searching the village buildings before the elder has directed us towards the stolen vehicles. We expect that once ISIS get wind of our presence they will prepare to attack the village from the surrounding towns. We also expect Russia may play some cards in this fight but we are yet to know exactly what their plans are (updates will come during the mission.) *People on the ground are not authorized to use stolen equipment against the enemy in case of tampering.

End-state
Once the stolen equipment has been secured and any attacks repelled endex will be authorized.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to meet with Elder Masood in the Town of Tunkuf. The elder has intelligence on the location of Stolen Russian AAA Equipment, and EPOWs. The town of Tunkuf is mostly on our side, but there are ISIS militants or allied civilians who will report our movements to local ISIS commanders. We expect a response from ISIS, initially from their closer camps to the south, but possibly also to the east and north east as before. We will meet with Elder Masood, who will inform us of the location of the objectives, which we will then secure, and repel any counter-attack as we have promised to protect Tunkuf from ISIS rule. It is imperative that we are friendly to the local population, but remain vigilant to suspicious persons.

Tasks and Sequencing
DELTA will sweep the valley floor into Tunkuf for possible IEDs and mines that have been left behind by retreating ISIS forces. DELTA will then enter Tunkuf and provide local security, speaking with locals and then provide and execute a meeting with Elder Masood. ECHO will provide overwatch from an assortment of overwatch positions on the south and east side of Tunkuf, per the execution plan. ECHOs sniper teams will use ATVs to rapidly maneuver the battlefield. JULIET will provide intelligence and command and control from it's flight of MQ-9 Reaper Drones, giving valuable insight on enemy movements, and will provide the primary anti-vehicle asset for the deployment. After securing the objective location, DELTA will proceed to the objective, providing it's own security, and then go firm for a possible and expected counter attack, supported by ECHO and JULIET before we return to FARP Dale.
