--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationWith furious fighting taking place on both the west and eastern sides of the capital, the displacement of innocent civilians has caused a major humanitarian crisis. As part of our commitment to the coalition UNITAF is tasked with sending supplies and establishing a new patrol base in Limari a large town receiving a large number of refugees from across the region. The town is under ISIS governance, however they have tolerated humanitarian organizations setting up field hospitals and refugee camps.
Friendly Forces
1x Platoon motorised Infantry comprising; 4x HMMWV with .50cal / M240B 2x Rifle Squads with Command Element 1x Weapons Support Sqd (mixed) 1x HMMWV crewed by Sqd 1x Logistics Team 1x Rotary Logistics / MERT
Supporting Assets
Large civilian presence in Limar, with a mix of support to both ISIS and International forces. There is a presence of International Humanitarian organisations dealing with refugees.
Enemy Forces
The ISIS forces in Limar comprise of typical fighting cells, and local forces garrisoned in former Syrian Army and Police stations. While the enemy force does not expect our deployment, they will likely have already planned for a coalition assault and we expect that they will try and hinder our entry by non-traditional means (IEDs, VBIEDs, non-standard Fighting Vehicles "Technicals") As our presence becomes known we expect cells from larger camps and towns to the south of Limar to reinforce local cells, to stop our occupation.
Mission
TaskingOur primary mission is to enter and occupy the town of Limar by establishing and rebuilding a combat outpost at a former Syrian Army Outpost. During our deployment, our secondary mission is to communicate with locals and inform them of the positive outcome of our occupation, including providing humanitarian supplies, trade and compensation for damages. This includes rooting out ISIS supporters and buildings or compounds which are suspicious, arresting persons found inside. Finally, and should time allow we will establish a new checkpoint to the south of Limar, in order to allow us to search vehicles entering it in the future.
End-state
After capturing, occupying and rebuilding a hasty combat outpost, UNITAF forces will consolidate at the newly established COP for de-briefing and preparations for future operations.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to establish our most forward Combat Outpost to provide a stepping stone for future operations as we reach the heart of the ISIS territory. Our forces will build relations with the local populace and rid Limar of ISIS control and governance, providing refugees with essential supplies and routes to safer regions.
Tasks and Sequencing
The primary ground combat element OUTLAW (Infantry platoon) will depart Kalae Noowi Airbase by road supported by BESERKER (motorised platoon) and GUARDIAN (logistics attache) in a convoy to the primary disembark location, approximately 1 click north of the area of operations. Meanwhile, a weapons support team callsign PHANTOM departs Bushlurker Camp Base to the west on the salmon route of the west side of the river, to establish an observation point over the town. As units enter PHASE 1, led by OUTLAW and supported by BESERKER the ground combat elements will, after having surveyed the AO provide security by pushing ISIS forces back into PHASE 4, to allow GUARDIAN access to deploy construction equipment on northern Limar. All callsigns will as directed by the Ground Commander continue to secure the streets and structures, investigating any intelligence gathered on route.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyResupply will be conducted by GROUNDHOG, CH-47 airlifted from our closest airbase, to tactical landing zones organised by the Company Forward Air Controller, and unpacked and relocated by GUARDIAN, the company logistics attachment.
Medical
The primary means of MEDEVAC is by ground based medical facilities established at Phase 3s Combat Outpost. Backup MCI support will be provided by airborne MERT.
