--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationFollowing a tougher than expected Japanese defence, our initial forces are linked up with the main invasion force, the air and naval battles are intensifying and the race to take Henderson Airfield is on. Landing tanks on the beaches has allowed us much greater firepower and with the main assault force hammering the enemy position, we're tasked with the flank.
Friendly Forces
US Landed invasion force of 700 infantry, 20 main battle tanks with naval and carrier support, split into the main assault force (approximately 2/3s) and the flanking force (approximately 1/3).
Enemy Forces
Approximately 2000 infantry, light tanks, aircraft operation from henderson airfield and carriers. Use of traps, mines and emplacements.
Mission
TaskingMain Objective: Capture henderson airfield back from Japanese Forces. Following our failed initial assault, an additional battalion has been landed and authorisation for the final capture of Henderson Airfield has been given. The 1st Division will take the frontline to the east, pushing Henderson from the north west. We've been ordered to deal with the flank, meeting the 1AD at Henderson just before the evening.

End-state
Hold henderson airfield.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to provide envelopment support for the main assault force as they advance towards Henderson Airfield. We'll move down the river, with our infantry and tank support to deal with a Japanese emplacement (OBJ A) and cross to the western runway threshold. We'll distract the enemy on the western entrance to ensure they have to defend two fronts.
Tasks and Sequencing
All callsigns will be briefed on the movement plan at our camp at Lunga Point. Local security is provided by 5th Platoon, but the battle is ongoing and we should remain vigilant. Engineers have cleared paths through the jungle ahead, and constructed a pontoon for our vehicles. We'll move south to the Pontoon and our Tanks and Easy 2 will cross the Pontoon, moving south (YANKEE via the Clearing and Road) and Easy 2 in the Jungle, coastline. Easy 1 will continue through the forest south along the riverbank. We'll move in supporting distance of each other, until we get eyes on OBJ A. Further verbal orders will be given, when OBJ A is secure. But we expect to cross the bridge and enter Henderson from the river side - where we'll link up with the main assault force.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyLogistics can take place via ground based vehicular support, due to pontoons deployed by engineers.
Medical
Combat medics will establish CCPs behind the frontline.
