--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationFollowing the successful extraction of two Royal Marine prisoners from a large fort held by the Russians in operation Gulag, the Canadian JOC prepare an assault to take the fort and its surrounding land, pushing the front line further North in preparation for the final stages of the campaign. The special forces operation last night resulted in the launch of a SCUD which destroyed an AA system in our forthcoming AO, resulting in some long-range AA defences being inoperable. Intelligence gathered in the mission is being investigated currently.
Friendly Forces
Canadian Combined Arms platoon supported by fixed- and rotary-winged assets.
Supporting Assets
No further support by friendly assets outside of friendly territory.
Enemy Forces
Russian army regulars supported by mixed light and heavy armour, and high possibility of enemy Fixed- and rotary-winged aircraft from the North-Eastern airfield.
Mission
TaskingSimply, the platoon will be tasked with securing a marked AO on the Eastern coast of the region. The purpose of this action is to secure a sector of potentially less-fortified and less-prepared Russian territory before it becomes much more difficult to do so. A recent raid into an occupied Russian fort showed that it may cause some issues to secure it should the enemy have time to prepare well. The fort along with local patrol bases and important supply routes must be controlled before our push further toward the enemy main strongholds in the region, located in the North. There have been rumours and snippets of intelligence encountered recently which suggests there may be some form of Finnish force fighting the Russians. These rumours should be corroborated if possible. Primary tasking -Secure the occupied russian fort -Secure both marked Patrol Bases -Secure MSR Tiella within the marked AO Secondary Tasking -Secure further intelligence which may help our cause through the rest of the campaign -Investigate rumours of Finnish fighters.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe intent for today is to secure a significant amount of the eastern AO from AFRF. We believe by making this advance in the Canadian sector that we will then be able to push the Russians back across the whole frontline.
