--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationFollowing the Canadian capture of the Gulag, Russian forces- angered by the loss of this defensible position- are amassing nearby. Our scouts are reporting an expected attack within the hour capable of overwhelming garrisoned Canadian forces. With our supporting elements engaged in other sectors, a QRF has been alerted and assembled. Garrison forces must hold out until they arrive with limited equipment and ammunition reserves.
Friendly Forces
1x Garrisoned Infantry Platoon with Heavy Weapons 1x Airborne QRF Platoon
Supporting Assets
Additional friendly forces are fighting to the west, but are already engaged and unable to support at this time.
Enemy Forces
Russian army regulars fighting alongside mechanized forces. We expect heavy armour and aircraft supporting a ground infantry assault amounting to 2 platoons or greater. The enemy forces are expected to attack from the north and north west.
Mission
TaskingQRF forces in King platoon must relieve the garrisoned Bishop platoon at the Gulag before they are overwhelmed. Re-supply runs have not yet been able to reach the Gulag leading to a lack of munitions and supplies for the Garrison. Russian mobile AA assets were reported in the early hours of this morning near their staging areas and moving along MSR Tiellä, and it is suspected they will be manoeuvred into a blocking position against any support we can muster. These will need to be eliminated before we can ferry reinforcements and supplies to the Gulag. Once the Gulag is secured, the immediate area will need to be cleared of any enemy forces lingering behind. Thankfully, munitions and equipment are still scattered around the gulag from our original assault to be consolidated by the defending garrison. Thanks to our scouts, we think we have at least 40 minutes to prepare before the Russians are within engagement distance.
Primary Tasking
-[Bishop] Defend the Gulag from Russian assault and prevent them from attaining a foothold inside
-[King] Insert successfully from Bundeswehr Airfield
-[King] Seek and destroy Russian mobile AA assets staging near the Gulag
-[King] Reinforce Bishop at the Gulag and neutralize enemies attempting to siege it
Secondary Tasking
-Route enemy forces from the immediate area around the Gulag
-Destroy/capture enemy CPs and any information within.

End-state
Should the Gulag remain under our control after the Russian assault, the mission will be considered a success. Teams will endex within the walls if this is the case. Should we lose control of the gulag, we will arrange extract back to the supply port or Bundeswehr airfield after mission failure.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to hold the Gulag. Due to heavy fighting across the frontline, Our Canadian QRF is to be flown in to reinforce the garrison, but will not arrive before the attack is expected to commence. We must prevent the Russians from re-taking the position at all costs and remove their AA threat to allow our air cover to support us with close air support and logistics to aid in this endeavor.
Tasks and Sequencing
[PHASE 1] BISHOP Immediately commence defensive drills for a layered and delayed defence. Locate and consolidate all supplies, prepare mines and explosives to delay the attack. Communicate plans with the QRF Commander as soon as possible.
KING
QRF to muster as soon as possible at Bundeswehr Airfield where Canadian CH-47 and UH-1Y aircraft will airlift us the 14-18km flight to LZ Marsh - due to rapid deployment KING units are to brief in flight and not on the ground.
Aircraft will fly at sea level to avoid detection and with air cover en-route, when entering the Russian AA umbrella they will use the tree line to approach LZ Marsh via the port. At primary LZ Marsh KING 1 is to move immediately north into the tree cover at Waypoint 1, with KING 2 following, we do not expect contact or civilian presence.
Should enemy AA be at risk to LZ Marsh, a back-up LZ - LZ Close Shave is nearby and is to be used as an alternate.
CASTLE
Provide CAP and escort for ROOK flight en-route to AO, do not enter the sector on the lateral north of FOB Ontario, escort Rook back to Bundeswehr airfield post insertion.
ROOK
Return to base.
[PHASE 2] - commence as soon as possible
BISHOP
Continue to delay enemy attack at all costs.
KING
Platoon relocates to Waypoint 2 (west) via Waypoint 1 under tree cover, travelling overwatch. On reaching Waypoint 2, we are straddling the MSR leading north to Tiella and inside the suspected AA sector. KING 1 is to cover 450m West of the MSR and KING 2 400m east of the MSR as the platoon moves north up the MSR guide, hunting the enemy AA position. As required, the Platoon Leader will reposition units to deal with threats or objectives as discovered.
CASTLE
Standby for mission, escort ROOK as required.
ROOK
Begin forward staging supplies to Logistics Depot. Handle requests from KING for insertion of vehicles and equipment as required.
[PHASE 3] - commence only when AA is destroyed
BISHOP
Instruct BISHOP Forward Air Control to contact CASTLE flight for close air support, as soon as possible. Communicate with KING best possible assault direction based on enemy positions.
KING
Move immediately to counter assault Russian forces encircling the Gulag, movement and tasking to be dictated by information yet to be determined.
CASTLE
Alert, CAS requests and enemy aircraft highly likely - focus on continual cover from at least 1 airframe and resupply as required.
ROOK
Alert, be prepared for MEDEVAC, LOGIPAK and close insertion in the area of operations as required by the KING Forward Air Controller.
[PHASE 3] - commence when Gulag is held / King Arrive
BISHOP
LOGIPAK and CASREP, expect further orders
KING
Take over defensive duties, ACE REPORTs, expect further orders
CASTLE
Continue on mission.
ROOK
Continue on mission.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyDue to the long distance supply chain of 15km, logistics will stage from a depot 5kms south of the AO. during Phase 1 operations ROOK will move necessary supplies into position. LOGIPAKs cannot be provided to BISHOP until KING succeeds their primary objective, but KING is permitted to bring supplies in where possible via LZ Marsh, LZ Close Shave to be brought forward by vehicles slung in by ROOK. For this reason, all elements crossing the AO should be mindful of the challenging logistical arrangements, and prepare accordingly - including pre-planning of logistical stages.
Medical
There is a medical post at the Gulag that can be used for the treatment of severe battlefield casualties, KING will primarily use ground based transport to airbourne medical evacuation if required.
