--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationAfter the successful capture of "Roger", our next target is a high-ranking officer and SNA defector: Majed Rahim. Due to his military prowess it has been challenging to secure intel on his whereabouts. We have credible intel that he is hiding somewhere in the mountainous region near Abi Valley, northwest of Amir. A transmitter tower has been located on the crest south of Abi Valley. The installation is suspected to be responsible for BLUFOR communications breakdown during previous operations. There will be civ pop in and near the area of operations. Civilians are also allowed to own and open-carry firearms.
Friendly Forces
[1x] Stryker Platoon consisting of: [2x] Rifle Squad [1x] Weapons Squad [1x] MERT & Sustainment Attachment Mounted in [4x] Stryker ICV. Supported by: [1x] Recon sniper team Mobile with [1x] MRZR.
Enemy Forces
ISIS is suspected to field significant resistance to protect the HVT and transmitter. Ambush tactics supported by captured surplus vehicles as well as non-standard tactical vehicles. Likely mountain camps and spotters.
Mission
TaskingPrimary objective: Find and seize Majed Rahim. Secondary objective: Capture or destroy the transmitter in grid 0406.
End-state
Critically successful end-state: Majed Rahim is captured and the transmitter disrupted. Warlock platoon have exited the AO to the SE and handed off Rahim for processing at Kinduf Airport. Sufficient end-state: Majed Rahim is captured. Warlock platoon have exited the AO and handed off Rahim for processing. Failure state: Majed Rahim has escaped.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to deny ISIS further information gained from the SNA defector Majed Rahim. We will seize the opportunity to disrupt the transmitter suspected to jam our communications nearby. Throughout the deployment, Warlock platoon will commit to and pursue all contacts. The advance through terrain is made tactically within mutual supporting distance at all times.
Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 0 Warlock platoon will brief and prepare for departure from FOB Bushlurker.
- Warlock 9, Warlock 7 and Warlock 3 mount Groundhog 2.
- Warlock 1 mount Groundhog 1.
- Warlock 2 mount Groundhog 3.
- Guardian 4-1 and Warlock 8 mount Groundhog 9.
LD Lima
Prior to or at arrival at Line of Departure Lima, Warlock dismounts to form a platoon wedge or vee, terrain depending, with Groundhog 9 and Groundhog 2 trailing. Hunter 4-2 conducts as per freedom of movement along the far west flank on the ridge to get into position at or near OP Hydra. The team will spot for and communicate with Warlock as to enemy assemblies and movements. Warlock platoon advances on Phase Line Sigma.PL Sigma
Warlock platoon advances on WP Echo to investigate the first Suspected marker. Surveillance suggests they are civilian compounds, emphasise PID. Lead squad establishes overwatch while flank squad advances to clear. This movement continues until potential contact is neutralised. Upon clearing, Warlock platoon pivots or separates, contact depending, eastwards towards Phase Sigma short of WP Fox. Hunter 4-2 advances along their chosen route to establish overwatch on the transmitter. The team will spot for and communicate with Warlock as to enemy assemblies and movements where able.PL Tau
Upon adjusting east, Warlock platoon moves towards the saddle of WP Fox. In a bounding overwatch, the platoon advances to envelop the Suspected marker on the plateau. On completion, Warlock adjusts southwest and bypasses WP Golf on the north, keeping its terrain feature flanking south for cover. One squad separates to advance on the Suspected marker northwest of WP Golf under support of two Strykers. The platoon remainder establishes a covering position rearwards. Hunter 4-2 is cleared to move via OP Medusa or as suitable to observe the transmitter station. At their discretion, [2x] A-10C are on stand-by for close air strikes. On completion, separate squad either regroups with platoon or advances upslope to investigate the transmitter compound with Hunter 4-2 covering. Hunter 4-2 will spot for and communicate with Warlock as to enemy assemblies and movements.PL Zulu
During this phase, we must be mindful of the civilian population centre of Amir to the southeast and adjust our approaches and fires accordingly. Avoid direct advances in line with the town. If Rahim has not been positively identified and seized at this point, Warlock platoon will push southeast via WP Golf to WP Hotel. The last Suspected marker beneath the ridge is investigated. Hunter 4-2 moves along the ridge as suitable, either with a separated squad in support or alone if regrouped, to clear OP Gorgon. Past this point, planning terminates and flexible leadership is required to complete the task to EVAC southeast with the HVT.Administration/Logistics
ResupplyAll squads are required to bring their own sustainment in their assigned Stryker ICV. At least one standard squad resupply, spare LAT and at least two wheels must be loaded in the cargo of each vehicle. Warlock 3 will include one medium AT and medium machinegun resupply. Guardian 4-1 engineer is attached and mounted in Groundhog 9 for field repairs. Because sustainment is part of the formation, resupplies are timely.
Medical
Guardian 4-1 MERT are attached to and mounted in Groundhog 9 for second-line treatment and recovery. Because medical response is part of the formation, treatment is timely.
Rules of Engagement
Majed Rahim is to be handed off alive. He was last seen wearing this apparel. Hold fire on all personnel with plate carriers and helmets until positive identification of Rahim is concluded.
Fire Support Plan
In accordance with SOP
Close Air Support
[2x] A-10C are on stand-by at PltHQ and Hunter 4-2's discretion for one air strike on the radio tower.
