Anti-vehicle Roles

Anti-armour roles are vital to countering enemy armour units, be it light or heavy, as well as bunkers and installations. AT Infantryman perform normal riflemen duties, and transition into their anti-armour role as and when required.



Assistant AT Specialist
Tier 0 Anti-vehicle Role


The assistant anti-armorman, is the right-hand man of a Heavy or Medium AT Gunner, and forms part of a HAT or MAT Team. They assist the gunner by carrying additional missiles as well as assisting with ranging, targeting and management of backblast from launchers. The role is to stick with the gunner and provide support - the two always form a buddy team. The assistant supports the AT Gunner in the form of providing security, helping to spot, engage, and adjust fire on targets.

Anti-Tank Rifleman, Light
Tier I Anti-vehicle Role


Fireteams will typically carry light anti-tank weaponry if enemy armor is expected to be present in an area. Generally, this will result in the team's rifleman being given a single-shot light anti-tank weapon. The anti-tank rifleman will carry out their normal rifleman duties, and in the event that enemy armor is encountered, they will immediately transition into anti-tank mode and attempt to take it out based upon their team and squad leader's directives.

AT Specialist, Medium
Tier II Anti-vehicle Role


A medium anti-tank (MAT) team or individual is a role that is capable of delivering accurate and deadly direct-fire against tanks, bunkers, buildings, and other suitable hard targets. MATs carry a multi-use reloadable launcher and a number of missiles. The launcher is typically scoped and can utilise HEDP, HEAT, HEAA, FTG and NE rounds.

AA Specialist
Tier II Anti-vehicle Role


An anti-air specialist is equipped with a man-portable AA missile system, and an additional missile, ready to use their launcher to engage and destroy any enemy air threats that might appear over the battlefield, either fixed-wing (jet) or rotary-winged (helo). Their proficiency and situational awareness can be the difference between life and death for a squad or platoon.

AT Specialist, Heavy
Tier III Anti-vehicle Role


A heavy anti-tank team (HAT) or individual wields the most deadly anti-tank infantry-carried weapon systems available. When heavy armor is expected, they are great assets to have attached to the platoon. The HAT carries the FGM-148 Javelin a man-portable fire-and-forget anti-tank missile. The Javelin's HEAT warhead is capable of defeating modern tanks by attacking them from above where their armor is thinnest, and is also useful against fortifications in a direct attack flight.
