Medical Support Roles
Medical roles are support roles concerned with the triage and treatment of battlefield casualties. They may involve medical evacuation duties (MEDIVAC) and the construction of Battle Aid Stations (BAS) or Casualty Collection Points (CCP)
Combat Life Saver Tier I Medical Role
The Combat Life Saver (CLS) is not a medic rather a junior medical role utilised at the fireteam level, the role of a CLS is to provide first-aid to fireteam members, and deal with minor casualties. In the event of Major or Immediate casualties, the CLS will stabilise a patient while requesting a senior medic such as the SqMed, or PltMed.

Squad Medics are medics concerned first and foremost with the welfare of their squad members. Medics leave the fighting to the infantry, instead focusing on patching up the wounded and getting them back into the fight. Medics should only fire their weapon in self-defense, or in the defense of the wounded. In the absence of a Platoon Medic (PltMed) the Squad Medic takes on PltMed responsibilities.

The platoon medic is a medic grouped with the platoon headquarters, The platoon medic has several responsibilities above and beyond what a normal medic has, and is considered to be the platoon's senior medic and a doctor. The PltMed sets up the Platoon Aid Station ("PAS") when in the defense and acts as security for the PltHQ element.

The MERT is a rotary airborne unit, typically escorted by a pair of Attack Helicopters, cabable of airlifting medical emergencies from the frontline for treatment in the air, or back at a Field Hospital.

A special forces medic is an experienced doctor who is also a special operations operator. Since all special forces operators are medically trained, it’s the job of the SF Medic to provide advanced treatment to battlefield casualties as and when required.
