As the Commanding Officer of a Company, a Captain commands a company-sized unit made up of 2-3 troops. As Company Commander, a Captain trains, develops and supports the companies junior officers and NCOs. With the support of their Company Sergeant a Captain will monitor the performance of the Troops in the Company, and work with the Company Officers and NCOs to ensure the health and vitality of the unit, along and in line with the aims of Command.
A Captain will typically be promoted to Major after a suitable time of service, performance and good conduct in the previous grade.
Officers are responsible for ensuring that UNITAF continues to be a healthy engaging and exciting. They have full responsibility for the leadership and smooth running of their units and are responsible for a large number of personnel.
