2026 Summer Selection

Monday 13 July 2026

Maj

Major Korean Falcon

Commanding Officer
UNITAF

Deadline: Tuesday 28 July 2026

What is Summer Selection?
UNITAF's Organisational Chain of Command (ORGCOC) is re-appointed every six months. The ORGCOC is crucial in managing UNITAF's day-to-day operations, composed of NCOs and Officers dedicated to executing the overall strategy and direction of the unit as defined by Central Command.
As we now approach the summer term, we invite both existing and new members to engage with the process and contribute to our ongoing success. If you want to support and influence the future development of UNITAF, this is your chance!

What is in store for ORGCOC staff members in the coming period?
There are plenty of things that need to be addressed in the coming period. The unit is at a pivotal point, with plenty of opportunities and challenges. If you are interested in forming UNITAF’s future, you would do well to join ORGCOC now!

The keen-eyed of you will have seen that there was a general ORGCOC staff meeting Tuesday 29th of June. At this meeting, we discussed the status quo, with particular focus on the vacancy rates that have troubled the unit for some time and has forced us away from the larger company-sized operations that we used to run.

A key issue raised here was a sense of community – whilst we benefited well during COVID years where people’s social lives were forced onto digital platforms, the post-COVID years and our continued focus on the systems-based backbone the unit relies on have resulted in a decreased sense of community. As is often said, people come to UNITAF for the game, but they stay for the people. What then happens if we don’t sufficiently foster and develop that human connection? This is one of several issues that directly or indirectly influence vacancy rates (progression, general enjoyment, engagement with lore, community “vibes”, system complexity, etc.), and all commands will address their part of this challenge in the coming period.

At the same time, whilst the work that the commands can and will do will be essential, it is also important to look at this more broadly and work on the cross-sectional issues that we are facing. As such, we are establishing a strategic task group that looks at these issues more in depth. The mandate of this task group will specifically be to identify and propose specific, actionable solutions to the broader challenges described above, and is as such meant to be a temporary group. If you are interested in this, then please do let us know.

How to declare my interest?
Interested persons should directly contact the responsible officer for each command (recommended method is Discord Direct Message):

  • The aforementioned Strategic Task Group: Maj Korean Falcon (CC)

When is the deadline?

for Tuesday 28 July 2026 and the selection will take place from this date until the term starts on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
