Hi all,
First of all, thank you all for your interest and patience in the selection process.
We are very happy to announce that we have one new addition to the ORGCOC this period, as SP1 Vyqe will join J6 as a new non-commissioned officer supporting policy development. This is a crucial section as we are undergoing the change towards the Future Training System, and we are therefore very pleased to see that Sgt Jochem will be supported in this work going forwards.
I wholeheartedly thank all members of the ORGCOC for their continued hard work in making UNITAF what it is, and collectively work for what this unit can be. Without dedicated members, this unit would not have been possible.
Personnel Command
Personnel Command has in the recently seen a change of leadership, with Aiedail assuming the role as Personnel Officer. Under his leadership, J1 has worked to improve the recruit intake and ensure it adheres to the new core infantry requirements and ensure that recruits are set up to succeed in their transition from recruit to private. This is an ongoing process of which I am certain we will see fruits in this coming period.

Operations Command
As mentioned in the winter selection announcement, a key issue UNITAF is currently facing is a reduced deployment frequency. This is a continuing discussion internally in Operations Command, and the Theatre system should support their efforts. Beyond this, they are looking into how to best motivate potential mission creators and field leaders to take the step, and work is in process to provide better frameworks and supportive documentation.

Training Command
Training command is hard at work at ensuring the transition to the future training system runs as smoothly as possible. This work is multifaceted, for not only must old policy be reworked in a sensible way, new systems must also be continuously monitored to ensure that they have the intended effect on the unit. We recently, for instance, saw that the skill assessment weighting had a detrimental effect on recruit progression, and have sought to rectify this. Training Command will continue to develop this system and ensure good implementation all around.

Get involved!
Remember our staff positions are there to be a point of contact and management for our efforts in all areas, but they can't do it alone. If you want to see progress in any area the best thing to do, if you can is to get involved. You can indicate which areas you'd like to contribute in through the monthly preferences system, but you can also contact any of the persons listed above in order to express your interest in the same. If you have applied to a position, either during the selection window or using the above feature, please contact the relevant staff group, or escalate to the Command Unit if you have not heard back, or would like to discuss it in more detail.
Concluding remarks
As we now transition into the winter phase, it will be my priority to coordinate closely with the commands to ensure that our development priorities remain correct and that the commands have the resources they need to effectuate their own work. Thankfully, I believe we are in a good place to do so, and I do as such hope we will see movement on the key issues the unit is currently facing, such as the lacking influx of new mission creators and field leaders, sooner rather than later.
As always, if you have any constructive input to the processes we are undergoing, you can address those to the relevant staff groups.
Let me conclusively express again my thanks to all staff and contributing members for their continued efforts and commitment in making UNITAF the best unit it can be.
