Doctrine Change Process

Hello,

I am writing to inform you of an update to the Doctrine Change Process (FM/BP-875).

Step 7 is to communicate the change to the unit. In the past, this has been done via Officers’ announcements on the website. This is a limiting factor as it prevents teams from implementing change when it is ready and relies on the availability and activity of the pertinent Officer. There has also been confusion as to when doctrine changes are ‘in effect’, so this change is meant to clarify and streamline the process.

As of this announcement:

1. NCOs now have permissions to post in the Discord Announcements channel. This will allow each team to post announcements as soon as the change is ready for implementation.
2. Doctrine change is considered ‘communicated’ and therefore ‘in effect’ only after a dedicated announcement in the Announcements channel (and/or the website announcements).

Announcements should include the following:
- A descriptive title: “Doctrine Change: Adding CLS skills and abilities to sniper teams”
- A date/time of effect: “As of September 20th”
- A description of the change and how it will affect gameplay: “Snipers and spotters will now have CLS-level medical abilities and the relevant skills added to their role cards. This is to allow sniper teams to be more medically self-sufficient.”
- Links to any relevant FM +/- Roadmap items
- A point of contact for questions or issues: 2LT Stormaple

It is important that teams ensure that their changes are ready to implement before announcing them, including any collaboration with other teams that is necessary for practical implementation. In this case, Marksmanship TT needs to ensure that Medical TT, and J6 are ready to implement the change by the stated deadline.
