Situation
Background InformationIn anticipation of a heightened NVA presence in the Khe Sanh area of northwestern Quảng Trị Province, fresh reinforcements are sent in to relieve the Outposts in the mountains. Unfortunately, with the Monsoon season, along with previous incidents of Helicopters being shot down, US Command has stopped all non-mission flights in the area. Tango Squad has been tasked with forming a convoy North West and relieving the Troops stationed at Hill 881S.

Execution
Commander's IntentConvoy on high-alert along our designated route from Khe Sanh Combat Base to Hill 881N, approximately 8km NW. - Maintain convoy spacing. - Maintain ARD. Mission Critical: The Supply vehicle (M54 Ammo Truck) MUST be prioritised as successful reinforcement relies on these supplies.
Tasks and Sequencing
Tango Squad will depart from Khe Sanh Combat base at approximately 0700, following the below route: We expect to stop and search an unfavourable village "Xom Ta Can" en-route. Treat with caution, show civility to local population. Convoy Order: TANGO 1-1 TANGO 1-3 (SUPPLY TRUCK) TANGO 1 (ACTUAL) TANGO 1-2 Convoy to maintain speed of 40km/h, excluding combat/safety requirements. This is due to deep mud. There is potential for landslides / rockslides with heavy rain during this Monsoon season. Reminder of Convoy ACTIONS ON: • Contact - Push Through • Contact - Dismount and Assault • Disabled Vehicle • Canalizing Ground
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyALL CALLSIGNS will depart Khe Sanh Combat Base fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This load and that carried within the trucks is expected to sustain the team throughout the mission, without support.
