Situation

Background Information
JAPANESE FORCES HAVE OCCUPIED GUADALCANAL AND U.S. MARINES HAVE BEEN DISPATCHED TO RECLAIM THE ISLAND AND ELIMINATE ANY AND ALL ENEMY PRESENCE. JAPANESE DEFENSES ARE FOCUSED AROUND HENDERSON AIRFIELD AND THE SURROUNDING COASTLINE. OUR FORCE PLANS TO SUCCESSFULLY LAND DOWN THE COAST FROM THIS KEY STRATEGIC POSITION. OUR TASKING IS TO PUSH ALONG THE COASTAL DEFENSES TO CLEAR IT FOR A FURTHER INVASION FORCE TO SECURE LOGISTICAL SUPPORT PRESSING DEEPER INTO THE ISLAND. ONCE THE COAST HAS BEEN SECURED HENDERSON AIRSTRIP IS OUR NEXT TARGET TO REDUCE JAPANESE AIR POWER IN THE REGION.

Mission

Tasking
WE'VE BEEN GIVEN ORDERS TO MAKE LANDING ON THE WESTERN FLANK AND PUSH ALONG THE NORTHERN COASTAL DEFENSES TO MAKE WAY FOR THE MAIN INVASION FORCE AND TO SECURE LOGISTICAL SUPPORT PRESSING DEEPER INTO THE ISLAND. ONCE THE COAST HAS BEEN SECURED HENDERSON AIRSTRIP WILL BE OUR NEXT TARGET TO REDUCE JAPANESE AIR POWER IN THE REGION.

End-state
IN POSSESSION OF A CLEAR STRETCH OF BEACH FOR SUPPLIES TO ENTER THE ISLAND.

Execution

Commander's Intent
Secure a beachhead via capture or destruction of costal defences for further landing of troops and pushing south

Tasks and Sequencing
ALL CALLSIGNS mount landing crafts driven by each squad. FOX 4 have amphibious APCs. YANKEE 9 have special landing craft with attached tanks YOU MUST NOT MOVE THE FIXED TANK BUT RECIEVE A NEW ONE ONCE ASHORE (Due to limitations of decent MBT assets) Once ashore ALL CALLSIGNS shall broadly follow movement as shown above. Initially EASY 1 shall move down the beach with EASY 2 within supporting distance on shore, We are tasked with eliminating the defencive positions along the beach to enable a larger landing force for later missions. YANKEE 9 should provide support to the EASY callsigns in their push and cover to the south where eyelines permit. Once sweeping west to east is complete, time permitting, we shall double back on ourselves and eliminate the second line of defencive positions to clear the designated AO (white line) LIGHTENING provides air cover for our landing and engages OPFOR fixed wing assets from the airbase to the south and CAS when requested to support the infantry.
