Situation

Background Information
Two years after a decisive victory in the Falklands War, the Argentine regime has continued to resist British demands for unconditional surrender, posing an ongoing threat to regional stability and British interests in the South Atlantic. The United Kingdom, backed by Parliament’s recent resolution, has authorised a full-scale military invasion of western Argentina. This operation aims to compel the regime to capitulate by disrupting critical enemy infrastructure and severing key supply routes. In coordination with the Chilean government, which has pledged logistical and strategic support in exchange for favourable trade agreements and reduced tariffs, UK forces will launch a decisive campaign targeting the La Rioja region. Securing objectives along the Rio Grande is vital to isolating and cutting off Argentine military forces operating in the area, thereby weakening their ability to mount effective resistance and maintain control over western territories.

Friendly Forces
BEAR company consisting of BADGER and BULL platoons supported by FV432 APCs, as well as GROUNDHOG 4 Logistic Support team of the British Army.

Enemy Forces
Mainly The Argentine Army with the possible but limited support of the Argentine Air Force

Mission

Tasking
Headquarters expects the unit to commence operations with the immediate capture of Villa Sanagasta. This town serves as a significant enemy stronghold and must be brought under control to establish a forward base for subsequent operations. BEAR Company is tasked with eliminating all enemy resistance within the town and ensuring it is fully secured. Control of Villa Sanagasta will allow for resupply and preparation for the next phase of the mission. Following the successful capture of Villa Sanagasta, the unit will advance southwards across the Rio Grande. The subsequent objective is the Industrial Park situated south of the Villa Sanagasta. This location is a critical logistical hub for the enemy’s operations. BEAR Company is expected to neutralise all hostile forces and secure the area, ensuring it is rendered unusable for enemy logistics. HQ stresses the importance of executing this phase with urgency to deny the enemy the ability to establish defences. Once the Industrial Park has been captured, the unit will proceed to clear the slums in the surrounding area. These densely packed urban zones are likely to harbour enemy forces using the terrain for concealment. BEAR Company is to conduct deliberate and precise operations to neutralise all resistance and secure the area, ensuring minimal collateral damage. The final objective is to seize the factory located south of the slums. This facility is vital to the enemy’s manufacturing and logistical operations. Headquarters expects the factory to be captured intact, if possible, in order to maximise its value for British operational needs. The unit must secure and hold the position against any potential counterattacks until reinforcements arrive to consolidate control.

End-state
Mission Completion: In the event of mission success, BEAR Company will have full control over all designated objectives, including Villa Sanagasta, the Industrial Park, the slums, and the factory. Friendly forces will have established a secure foothold in the region, ensuring uninterrupted operational momentum and denying the enemy access to critical infrastructure and resources. This will result in the disruption of the enemy's logistical and operational capacity, isolating their forces and compelling their withdrawal or capitulation in the area. All secured positions must be defensible and prepared to repel potential counterattacks. Mission Failure: In the event of mission failure, BEAR Company will regroup and hold a defensible in the south part of the Villa Sanagasta to prevent further advances by enemy forces. Villa Sanagasta should remain under friendly control as a forward staging base to facilitate resupply and reorganisation. Under no circumstances should the enemy be allowed to regain control of Villa Sanagasta. Defensive measures will focus on protecting friendly assets and personnel while ensuring the opportunity for a renewed offensive.
