--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
Two years after a decisive victory in the Falklands War, the Argentine regime has continued to resist British demands for unconditional surrender, posing an ongoing threat to regional stability and British interests in the South Atlantic. The United Kingdom, backed by Parliament’s recent resolution, has authorized a full-scale military invasion of western Argentina. This operation aims to compel the regime to capitulate by disrupting critical enemy infrastructure and severing key supply routes. In coordination with the Chilean government, which has pledged logistical and strategic support in exchange for favorable trade agreements and reduced tariffs, UK forces will launch a decisive campaign targeting the La Rioja region. Securing objectives along the Rio Grande is vital to isolating and cutting off Argentine military forces operating in the area, thereby weakening their ability to mount effective resistance and maintain control over western territories.

Friendly Forces
BISHOP Platoon – British Army

Enemy Forces
FOB Centinila is defended by a force of mostly infantry, supported with anti-air, artillery and occasional APC/IFVs. They are expected to be reinforced or supported further via transport and light-attack helicopters.

Mission

Tasking
- Assault and destroy FOB Centinila's forward external defenses guarding the nearby bridges. - Patrol and clear Route Jolly from enemy mines and anti-air emplacements. - Assault and capture FOB Centinila.

End-state
- Enemy defenses breached. - Route Jolly clear of mines and emplacements. - FOB Centinila secured.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this operation is to remove Argentine forces dug in the mountain passes to the East of the Rio Grande river. Dislodging the enemy forces there shall remove the threat of encirclement around Villa Sanagasta and allow for the construction of a fire base located near the peak of the mountain pass at El Centinela.

Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0: (Preparation) All callsigns shall organize their gear and rendezvous at RP-0 for operational briefing. Upon conclusion of the briefing, Knight 1 shall begin maneuvering towards WP-1A where they will reconnoiter enemy targets to the East of the Rio Grande bridge crossing. Knight 2 shall be transported to WP-1B by Rook elements via vehicles. Upon reaching the waypoint, Knight 2 shall dismount and begin maneuvering South. Rook shall return along the same ingress route and regroup at WP-1A after delivering the Knight 2 section. PHASE 1: Once all units are in position, Knight 2 shall begin an assault towards enemy fighting positions at AP-1B. From there, they shall then clear positions North of Route Jolly until they reach WP-2B where they will then hold before crossing phase-line 1. Simultaneously, Knight 1 shall exploit the enemy disorder created by Knight 2's assault to cross the Rio Grande bridge and attack positions South of Route Jolly until they reach WP-2A. Archer mortar crews shall focus fire on enemy positions near the Rio Grande bridge crossing under direction from Knight 8. PHASE 2: Upon instruction from the field leader, phase 2 shall begin and Knight elements shall be begin movement towards the following positions: Knight 1 is to clear positions South of Route Jolly towards WP-3A and WP-4A before holding at phase line 2. Knight 2 is to clear positions North of Route Jolly towards WP-3B and WP-4B before holding at phase line 2. Knight infantry elements shall stay within 200m of EOD units performing lane clearance of Route Jolly so that they can be assisted in the event of enemy contact. PHASE 3: After phase line 2 has been reached, Knight elements shall continue maneuvering towards FOB Centinela while being cautious of dangerous terrain elevation changes surrounding the enemy base. Knight 1 will clear through WP-5A and then assault the Southern FOB positions from AP-2A. Knight 2 will clear through WP-5B and then assault the Northern FOB positions from elevated ground at AP-2B. Upon securing the enemy base, all callsigns shall rearm at the designated logistical resupply point inside before continuing the assault towards the following positions: Knight 1 will secure the mountain peak at WP-6A and then move towards WP-7A to fend off any enemy counter-attacks along the North-East approach, as well as to provide protection to Rook while they finalize lane clearance of Route Jolly. Knight 2 shall move towards WP-6B and then clear out any remaining positions at WP-7B. The operation will be deemed complete after: 1) All enemy positions have been cleared. 2) Enemy counter-attacks have ceased. 3) Route Jolly has been cleared of hazards. All callsigns shall regroup in the field for debriefing upon conclusion of phase 3.
