Situation
Background InformationSeptember 17, 1944. The skies over the Netherlands are filled with paratroopers and Operation Market Garden has started. Airborne troops as part of "Market" are jumping behind enemy lines to secure key bridges and cities whilst the "Garden" land forces quickly move over the secured terrain, onward towards Germany. The US 101st Airborne Division is tasked to secure the bridge over the Wilhelmina canal at Son and then linkup with the British 30th corps at Eindhoven, before continuing north.
