Situation

Background Information

Elements of US Army are currently station at Fire Support Base Quan Loi, a riverside outpost upriver from the Mekong Delta. Following the destruction of coastal guns in previous weeks regular air sorties have recommenced in the region. Unfortunately while returning from a sortie in the Khe Sanh region an F4 Phantom callsign Phantom was shot down. Alongside this recent intelligence reports are suggesting that VC assets are positioning to assault the ARVN FOB of A Loui.

Mission

Tasking

The units first tasking is to secure the 2 pilots of PHANTOM whose plane was last seen as it crashed near OBJ: Lockhart and extracting them via helo at the FOB OBJ: Alloy. Once at this location you are tasked with supporting the small ARVN garrison in defending from any potential assault.

End-state

On mission completion, the friendly force will have safely extracted both pilots and successfully defended OBJ: Alloy. In the event that one or both pilots cannot be extracted alive their bodies are to be placed in a secure location and their positions recorded to be collected by follow on elements. If the situation in OBJ: Alloy is to deteriorate beyond the capabilities of the unit FSB Berchtesgaden will act as a fall back location.
