Situation

Background Information

Elements of US Army are currently station at A Loui, a small FOB to the west of FSB Berchtesgaden following the defence in recent weeks. Since then the 1st Armoured Cavalry Regiment have begun probing attacks in the region. Following an organised ambush to our north a M48 Patton MBT was disabled and abandoned by its crew. VC assets appear to be attempting to capture the Patton for their own use.

Mission

Tasking

The Unit is tasked with recovering the M48 Patton back to A Luoi where the 1st Armoured Cavalry Regiment can fully recover and repair the asset for use in future operations.

End-state

On mission completion the M48 Patton should be recovered to A Loui. In the event this is not possible SIERRA 1 is authorised to conduct in field demolition of the asset. If the asset is captured by VC elements this would be a mission failure

Execution

Commander's Intent
My intent is to use our speed to get to the damaged tank with great speed Secure it and get it moving away from the front line as quickly as possible

Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS will be at RP 0 For last min briefing updates and questions no later then 5 min past start ex Formation will be Phoenix 2-1 DOG 2 with SIERRA loaded All elements should be aware that Phoenix 2-1 is a Flame tank and we should be not standing in front of it PHASE 1 Convoy will speed towards the Tanks last know location via the black route marked. Incase of contact Phoenix 2-1 will engage and push through unless route is blocked. If route is blocked we will dismount and have the infantry flank around while support engineer removes the blockade. Once Reached the tank we will see if we can get it mobile enough to move on its own. incase this is possible support engineer will drive it. if unable to move DOG 2 should be able to tow it with us . Incase tank is no longer able to be moved or the enemy is providing to much pressure for us to retrieve the tank the support engineer should blow the vehicle while all other assets provide as much security or cover for him
