Situation
Background Information
The year is 1968, the USA never deployed to Vietnam. The USSR took the fall of Southern Vietnamese forces as an opportunity to forward deploy troops and reinforce their position in the Vietnamese peninsular. The PSRV welcomed this with arms open. Last week the PSRV formally invaded Laos and Cambodia, both nations governments quickly fell and both PSRV Forces and USSR Forces have begun reinforcing the area. Our Intelligence assets in the region believe that they may be staging for an attack on either Australia or The Philippines. This CANNOT happen
The 1st Infantry division have been deployed to Guam in preparation to strike

Enemy Forces
Mission
TaskingThe Unit is Tasked with gaining a foothold to stage future operations from. The target is the San Bay Ban Airfield and Docks to provide airlift and sealift capabilities. Objective Foothold and Patton. The unit is also tasked with destroying the small garrison Objective Hellfire
End-state
Mission Success if both Objective Patton and Foothold are complete.
Execution
Commander's IntentSecure a foothold for further operations in this AO
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 1 GRIFFIN will mount up and perform a LALO drop into the AO via Thunderbird 5 and rally on RP-A, LZ will be marked with Yellow smoke Thunderbird 5 will return to Maxwell field and switch to AC119 After rallying GRIFFIN will step off towards OBJ-PATTON GRIFFIN 1-2 will set up on BOF 1-2 and once set up GRIFFIN 1-1 will start the assault Once GRIFFIN 1-1 has gotten internal GRIFFIN 1-2 will follow them in. While GRIFFIN is clearing OBJ-PATTON Thunderbird 5 will destroy OBJ-HELLFIRE and any hostiles there to prevent QRF. PHASE 2 Once OBJ-PATTON is clear GRIFFIN will rally at the entrance of the compound and move towards OBJ-Foothold. After crossing the bridge, GRIFFIN will move offroad in defilade to avoid detection to RP-B While GRIFFIN is moving, Thunderbird 5 will destroy OBJ-Heaven and any hostiles there to prevent QRF. Before GRIFFIN starts their assault on the airfield, Thunderbird 5 will strike any fortified positions and/or vehicles located in the vicinity of the airfield, starting in the west. NOTE: RUNWAY MUST REMAIN clear and INTACT After the strikes have moved sufficiently, GRIFFIN will start their assault PHASE 3 Once the airfield is under control a LOGPAK will be called and GRIFFIN will dig in to hold the airfield. Thunderbird 5 will prevent any incoming QRF along the roads
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyALL CALLSIGNS will cross the LD fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team until OBJ-Foothold has been taken and resupply can be brought in. RRR for Thunderbird 5 will be available at Maxwell field
Medical
Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field)
