Situation
Background Information
The Cold War has been raging on for 5 decades, but is seemingly coming to an end with the instability of the Warsaw pact. With the East German withdrawal from the Pact a year before, the end is looming near.
During the first months of 1991, Premier Gorbachev was ousted from power by the military and other high ranking members of his party. This new government has increased pressure on Finland, and is seemingly attempting to replace the hole left in the Warsaw pact by the DDR, with a Finnish satellite state.
Even with all the pressure and threats, the government and military are not intending to concede to the crumbling Soviet Union, ready to use all means necessary to maintain Finnish sovereignty. Finland has been raising reservist units towards wartime strength in secret, and preparing for the worst.
A special taskforce has been built up in the region of Archie, in the Gulf of Finland, to repel the soviet invasion.
DOG 2 has been left stranded and surrounded on the island of Puolikas after the initial offensive efforts of the Soviet Army, and is in dire need of help.
ANGEL 9 Is tasked with saving DOG 2 from their predicament, supported by THUNDER 4 122 H 63 (D-30), towed.

Tasks and Sequencing
The time for the operation is set to happen during the night and finish during the day. SL will have night vision, FO will have night vision and NV capable binoculars, FTL will have night vision capable optics. Leaders are expected to guide fire with tracer rounds, as these are the only roles that will have night vision. At startex DOG 2 will set up defensive positions along BOF Melon and hold out until ANGEL arrives to create an opening for extraction. There will be AT mines and a brief preparation window for DOG to set up defensive positions. Should contact become overwhelming it is up to the decision of DOG 2 to retreat onto the island of Påska. FO will be on the island with DOG and will regroup with ANGEL 9 once all callsigns regroup. THUNDER is expected to be on high alert and mobile, as counter battery is inevitable. PHASE 0 after a quick brief ANGEL 9 and ANGEL 1 will mount up in their vehicles and step off following the black line towards angel boarding area. THUNDER 4 during this time will execute a preplanned HE barrage onto LZ Alpha to clear the LZ from trees. Once ANGEL is mounted onto the helicopter THUNDER 4 will execute a barrage of smoke rounds focusing on the north of LZ Alpha to conceal the landing. PHASE 1 When ANGEL has landed and disembarked, ANGEL 1 will begin assaulting towards BOF Gandalf and set up BOF to suppress and enable for DOG 2 to move. DOG 2 will REGROUP with ANGEL at BOF Gandalf. PHASE 2 ANGEL and DOG will break contact to the LZ if possible, with THUNDER providing suppression. Once at the LZ, ANGEL will set up security facing north and DOG will set up security towards the east. DOG will extract first and once at angel boarding area they will resupply. ANGEL will hold out until they are able to extract and once back at angel boarding area and resupplied ALL CALLSIGNS will head back towards the airfield.
