--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationJapanese Forces have occupied Guadalcanal and U.S. Marines have been dispatched to reclaim the island and eliminate enemy presence on the island. Japanese defenses are focused around Henderson Airfield and the surrounding coastline. Our force plans to successfully land down the coast from this key strategic position. Our tasking is to push along the coastal defenses to clear it for a further invasion force to secure logistical support pressing deeper into the island. Once the coast has been secured Henderson airstrip is our next target to reduce Japanese air power in the region.
Friendly Forces
3x Infantry Squads 6x Landing Crafts 4x Amphibious APCs 2x F6F fighters
Supporting Assets
The US Fleet is on course to arrive at dawn, comprising over 30 warships including 2 Enterprise-class fleet carriers with fighter aircraft and 6 battleships.
Enemy Forces
Infantry, 6 pounder cannons, Statics and Light vehicles/tanks
Mission
TaskingWe've been given orders to make landing on the western flank and push along the northern coastal defenses to make way for the main invasion force and to secure logistical support pressing deeper into the island. Once the coast has been secured Henderson airstrip will be our next target to reduce Japanese air power in the region.
End-state
In possession of the airfield and a clear stretch of beach for supplies to enter the island.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to envelop Japanese defenses preparing for our Invasion on the north of Guadalcanal by cutting through fortifications from inland positions. Using the difficult river and jungle terrain, our forces will cut through the Japanese defence and bear down on Henderson Airfield for a showdown with the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service.
Tasks and Sequencing
Prior to initiation of the invasion, the Company Commander will deliver a verbal briefing to all forces using the latest maps.

Administration/Logistics
ResupplyCombat Medical and Logistical support will be provided by FOX, amphibious logistical assets will use the Tenaru river to provide resupply and medical support to the front-line. Due to large scale ground movement, infantry forces should remain light and stow additional ammunition onboard YANKEE and FOX callsigns.
Medical
Immediate and Delayed casualties should be handed over to authorised medical personnel for treatment, in-field treatment should be avoided unless minor.
Rules of Engagement
In accordance with SOP
Fire Support Plan
Naval bombardment should be expected prior to the invasion forces landing by US Battleships off the coast.
Close Air Support
Air support provided by our fleet carriers will focus on maintaining Combat Air Patrol throughout the invasion, however controllers will mark targets for aircraft should ground suppression be required.
