Combat Life Saver
Tier I Medical Role

The Combat Life Saver (CLS) is not a medic but rather a junior medical role utilised at the fireteam level. The role of a CLS is to provide first-aid to fireteam members, and deal with minor casualties. In the event of Major or Immediate casualties, the CLS will stabilise a patient while requesting a senior medic to attend.

Squad Medic
Tier II Medical Role

Squad Medics are medics concerned first and foremost with the welfare of their squad members. Medics generally leave the fighting to the infantry, instead focusing on patching up the wounded and getting them back into the fight. Medics typically fire their weapon in self-defense, or in the defense of the wounded. In the absence of a Platoon Medic (PltMed) the Squad Medic takes on PltMed responsibilities.

Combat Medic
Tier II Medical Role

Combat Medics are concerned first and foremost with the welfare of others. Medics leave the fighting to the infantry, instead focusing on patching up the wounded and getting them back into the fight. The Combat Medic is very similar to the Squad Medic, but is used when more senior medics are needed within infantry teams our attachments, outside of a Squad HQ.

Platoon Medic
Tier III Medical Role

The platoon medic is a medic grouped with the platoon headquarters, The platoon medic has several responsibilities above and beyond what a normal medic has, and is considered to be the platoon's senior medic and a doctor. The PltMed sets up the Platoon Aid Station ("PAS") when in the defense and acts as security for the PltHQ element.

MERT Technician
Tier III Medical Role

As part of a Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) a MERT Tech is a experienced Medic who travels as part of a rapidly deployable mobile hospital known as MERT. The MERT is a rotary airborne unit, typically escorted by attack helicopters, cabable of airlifting medical emergencies from the frontline for treatment in the air, or back at a Field Hospital.

As part of a Combat Medical Team, the CMT Tech is a experienced Medic who travels as part of an Ambulance. The CMT is a ground based response medical unit cabable of recovering and extracting medical emergencies from the frontline for treatment in CCPs or Ambulances.

CMT Technician (Driver)
Tier III Medical Role

As part of a Combat Medical Team, the CMT Tech (Driver) is a experienced Medic who travels as part of an Ambulance. This role is the designated Ambulance Driver for the CMT unit, transporting patients as required, on top of their usual technician duties. The CMT is a ground based response medical unit cabable of recovering and extracting medical emergencies from the frontline for treatment in CCPs or Ambulances.

MERT Officer
Tier IV Medical Role

As part of a Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) a MERT Officer is a experienced Medic who travels as part of a rapidly deployable mobile hospital known as MERT. As the most Senior Medic deployed, the MO has the final say in Medical Treatment, and commands the MERT by directing the pilots of the MERT as well as communicating with the senior (typically Platoon Medic) on the ground. The MERT is a rotary airborne unit, typically escorted by attack helicopters, cabable of airlifting medical emergencies from the frontline for treatment in the air, or back at a Field Hospital.

SF Medic
Tier IV Qualified Medical Role

A special forces medic is an experienced doctor who is also a special operations operator. Since all special forces operators are medically trained, it’s the job of the SF Medic to provide advanced treatment to battlefield casualties as and when required. Like other special operations roles, the SF Medic is tasked with performing the most complex, classified, and dangerous missions directed.

CMT Leader
Tier IV Medical Role

As part of a Combat Medical Team, the CMT Leader is a experienced medic who travels either on foot or in an ambulance with a Combat Medical Team. They have the final say in Medical Treatment, and commands the CMT by directing the medics as well as communicating with the senior (typically Platoon Medic) or Platoon Sergeant. The CMT is a ground based unit which is independent of any other combat element.
