Situation

Background Information
Continuing the Siege of Virojoki, Bundeswehr forces join the fight--their target: FOB Triton and the other military targets South and South-West of Airbase Läppälintu. Whilst British forces hold their position around the central bridge of Virojoki, a Bundeswehr company is committing to an amphibious assault just East of the city. With the Russian forces depleted or packing up to retreat in this area, it should be easy enough to secure land and begin the advance through enemy positions from a direction they'll be less prepared for. Keep alert for civilians still hiding in structures in the area, and be on the lookout for any enemy surrendering as the fight in this region draws to a close. The situation for the enemy is becoming quite desperate, so be prepared for stiff resistance with the enemy utilising whatever they have left to halt your advance.

Friendly Forces
German Bundeswehr [1x] Light Infantry Rifle Company Standard Logistics & MERT tail

Supporting Assets
Allied British and Canadian forces garrisoning and securing our west flank.

Enemy Forces
Russian Armed Forces [?] Mechanised infantry [?] Armoured sections [?] Heliborne squadron, located at Airbase Läppälintu [?] Fixed-wing squadron, located at Airbase Läppälintu

Mission

Tasking
The primary tasking for this mission is to encircle and take out the remaining garrison in/ near Virojoki and secure MSR Iso Tie along with FOB Triton. Once Virojoki is secure, advance north to drive Russian forces back to Airbase Läppälintu. Enemy forces and activity have been noted South of the airbase and it is suspected that they will form defences to hold back any incursion. Take care as you move closer to the airbase. OBJ Larissa is the vehicle depot that the British forces were unable to secure during the past day of fighting in Virojoki. OBJ Hippo(campus) is a Russian dockyard in the process of being vacated. Denying enemy assets and preventing them from retreating all of their equipment in this area will prevent it from being used against us as we advance North. Primary Tasking -Secure the last sector of Virojoki's urban area -Assault and secure FOB Triton -Assault and secure OBJ Larissa -Assault and secure OBJ Hippo Secondary Tasking -Secure MSR Iso Tie as far East as feasible -Assault and secure the checkpoint at Pajunlahti -Secure civilian structures in and South of Nakarinmäki -Scout and secure terrain South of Airbase Läppälintu

End-state
After driving back hostile forces beyond Limit-of-Advance Pluto, advance in line with Nakarinmäki, establish a line of defence and ENDEX.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to shock-and-awe the east flank with an amphibious main effort to drive the Russian garrison out of the Virojoki area in our advance towards Airbase Läppälintu.

Tasks and Sequencing
OUTLINE
  • OUTLAW platoon shocks OBJ HIPPO and takes the west flank through CQB into OBJ Larissa
  • PHANTOM platoon screens the east flank, assaults FOB Triton and moves to contact activity in the woods
  • Guardian section trails each flank for continuous resupply
At all times, platoons remain in mutual supporting distance of one another, ready to support either flank as needed.

Phase Karla

In amphibious landing craft operated by GUARDIAN, WARLOCK company assaults the beaches east of Virojoki. PHANTOM establishes a beachhead on the east flank, screening. OUTLAW shocks into OBJ HIPPO, a dockyard. The garrison there is preparing a retreat; surprise and commitment are imperative. Maintaining contact, both platoons advance north. PHANTOM assaults FOB TRITON while maintaining a screen to the east for QRF. OUTLAW commits into the east quarters of Virojoki to drive out the garrison in CQB. Upon task completion, both platoons resupply at their respective RV Rainbow and RV Moon, on stand-by for counterattacks.

Phase Dieter

Maintaining pressure, WARLOCK company continues to drive hostile forces out north of Virojoki. PHANTOM begins a movement to contact through the woods to investigate and dispatch suspected activity. OUTLAW assaults OBJ Larissa, a vehicle depot. If necessary, RV Sun for OUTLAW and an opportune location for PHANTOM are called for resupply before continuing.

Phase PLUTO

In the final phase, WARLOCK company drives hostiles forces beyond LIMIT OF ADVANCE PLUTO. With an established line of defence on site, likely ENDEX in Nakarinmäki.
