Situation

Background Information
US Rangers begin operations in the Ida-Viru region by targeting Insurgent supply lines. Refer to the Campaign Briefing for background information.

Friendly Forces
1x Ranger Infantry Platoon 1x Logistics Support Element 1x MERT Support Element 1x Recon MH-6 Little Bird with FLIR Camera 1x UH-60 Blackhawk is in reserve should medevac or resupply be required by air.

Supporting Assets
Estonian Armed Forces are consolidating their current gains and will not be accompanying us on this operation.

Enemy Forces
Chernarussian Nationalists are primarily made up of Ex-military, police and civilians. They are equipped with a mix of older soviet and western equipment. Due to the nature of the terrain we are not expecting armoured assets despite the enemy force having access to them.

Mission

Tasking
We are tasked with cutting Insurgent supply lines between the cities of Zelenogorsk and Novoya Petrovka. Intelligence has identified a Lumberyard being used as a staging point between the two cities for Insurgents to transport supplies via railway. The overall objectives are securing the Krona Valley and gaining control of the region's railway. Local Infrastructure should be preserved where possible. Initial recon shows Krona Castle is an Insurgent stronghold with AA emplacements. Multiple camps are also suspected to be spread throughout the valley.

End-state
Krona Castle captured. Lumberyard Rail Station captured. Surrounding area secured and Insurgent camps destroyed.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The intent is to neutralise OPFOR activity in the Area of Operations. This involves the capture of known strongholds as well as to secure camps in the area.

Tasks and Sequencing
FOX TRANSPORTS VIKING PLATOON TO DISMOUNT ALPHA THROUGH ASSIGNED ROUTE. VIKING THEN MOVES TO POINT MJOLNIR, WHERE BERSERKER 1 THEN MOVES TO CAPTURE CASTLE KRONA AND BERSERKER 2 SWEEPS TWO HAMLETS SOUTH OF CASTLE KRONA. AS SOON AS THE ANTI-AIR WEAPONRY AT CASTLE KRONA HAS BEEN NEUTRALISED, HAWK WILL INITIATE FULL RECONNAISSANCE OF THE AREA, SEARCHING FOR CAMPS. VIKING WILL THEN APPROACH AND SECURE THESE CAMPS. ONCE CAMPS IN THE AREA HAVE BEEN SECURED, PLANS FOR THE CAPTURE OF THE LUMBERYARD WILL BE MADE AND EXECUTED. AFTER THE LUMBERYARD, BERSERKER 1 WILL APPROACH THE LAST KNOWN STRONGHOLD IN THE AREA - AN FOB - FROM THE NORTH WHILST BERSERKER 2 WILL APPROACH IT FROM THE EAST. EXPECT ENDEX AT THE LUMBERYARD.
