Mission

Tasking
Completing a patrol up the mountains and eliminating any signs of insurgency.

End-state
Improved security for Heartland allowing us to focus our efforts into the valley.

Execution

Commander's Intent
Eagle Platoon is tasked with clearing the area north of FOB Heartland so that the main operations centre can be moved to the newly established FOB Gravity without exposing our supply lines. The end state has the AO cleared of all Taliban presence.

Tasks and Sequencing
The platoon will begin the patrol at FOB Heartland and be driven by the FOB guards to dismount Apollo. The platoon will then proceed north on foot following the blue line with Bear to the east and fox to the west. Skylark will scout the AO and identify camps for further investigation while being mindful of any remaining AA assets in the area. As camps/caves/POI are identified each squad will be dispatched as required to eliminate any threats. We expect that once the Taliban see us coming they will start to employ unconventional warfare tactics, therefore the squads have integrated EOD specialists for detection of any IEDs. Squads have an additional designated marksmen for longer range engagements though these marksmen must maintain suitable spacing as a member of a buddy team within a fireteam at all times. Skylark is armed to engage any QRF's or sources of IDF which may come from the north or east. Upon conclusion of the patrol a suitable LZ will be identified for Skylark to land and RTB with the platoon on board.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
If required Skylark may airdrop supplies in coordination with Eagle 8.

Medical
Skylark will be equipt for PAKs when casualties are accompanied by a ground based medic.

Rules of Engagement
EPWs should be RTB via Skylark in coordination with Eagle 8
