--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
April 18, 2002. In the months following the retreat of Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters into Pakistan, coalition forces begin to conduct counterinsurgency operations in south-eastern Afghanistan in an attempt to both flush out any remaining insurgent threat and to provide humanitarian aid to those who have suffered during the conflict. However, due to the rising tensions between Iraq and the United States, much of the Western support in Afghanistan has been diverted to the Persian Gulf and remaining forces are to continue their objectives with limited supplies and troops... As part of these operations, a US Army platoon has been tasked with conducting an armed, long-range convoy around the mountains of the region providing humanitarian aid to the neighboring villages and farms.

Friendly Forces
1x Rifle Platoon 1x Logistics Team (3x cargo trucks) 1x MERT Team (medical truck) 3x APC Crews (x3 M113s)

Enemy Forces
Probable insurgent remnants including infantry, technicals and occasional APCs

Mission

Tasking
Conduct an armed, long-range convoy to suppress any remaining insurgents and provide humanitarian aid to local civilians

End-state
Any insurgent resistance suppressed and local civilians provided with humanitarian aid

Execution

Commander's Intent
Complete a long range convoy to provide humanitarian aid and gather intel regarding the region. Acting upon intel where possible.

Tasks and Sequencing
We will patrol on a marked route clockwise through the towns. At each town one squad will provide security and patrol within the town while the other two conduct patrols of the surrounding area, each prepared to be re-tasked as required. Due to the long range of the patrol we will be bringing logistical supplies with us for any required re-arms and repairs. Humanitarian supplies will be available to provide to locals where we can try to gather intelligence on the enemy. Passing in the below order: Alpha: Bahijah Bravo: Jalilah Charlie: Zaleekah Delta: Rafi'ah Echo: Ghazal Foxtrot: Rufaidah Golf: Elmas Hotel: Futon

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
The logistical team will be provided with humanitarian packages to hand out at each objective, as well as carrying the platoon's supplies

Medical
CCPs will be set up in each town with the medical vehicle.
