Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to locate and search a mountainous sector reportedly occupied by Taliban forces advancing on ANA positions, once clear we'll regroup and meet with the local ANA Commander to establish communications and exchange intelligence for future cooperation.
Tasks and Sequencing
From Camp Halliwell, DELTA callsigns will mount a flight of UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and be inserted in or around LZ Alpha, north of the contested sector between coalition and ANA territories, the aircraft will be piloted by aircrews across FOXTROT and ECHO callsigns during mass insert and extraction operations.
DELTA form a platoon line and move south to start their combat patrol and locate potential enemy movement and camps. ECHO callsigns return to base and FOXTROT callsigns hold north of the sector in combat readiness.
During the combat patrol phase all DELTA squads must search for and relay intelligence to Command. Squads must also instruct combat engineers to isolate, check and destroy any and all Taliban weapons caches with controlled demolitions, in coordination with platoon.
FOXTROT callsigns will be directed by the DELTA forward air controller to engage expected Taliban support units responding to contact in our sector via area suppression using rockets, to ensure the safety of DELTA callsigns should contact escalate.
Following confirmed sector clearance the DELTA combat patrol will end and units will reorganise at an ANA patrol base in the green zone south of the area of operations, this will allow for sustainment should it be required. During this layover DELTA Command will meet with the local ANA Commander to exchange intelligence and establish secure and ongoing communication channels.
Based on prior information we expect to return to base or move forward by assisting an ANA detachment with reconnaissance north of Kallista.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyECHO callsigns providing medical and logistics support will operate from Camp Halliwell. Using purpose modified UH-60 Blackhawks and under the direction of the DELTA Platoon Sergeant, support the forward operations of DELTA platoon. Where possible emergency supplies will be dropped into the area of operations from altitude, where safe passage can be established ECHO aircraft will be directed by DELTA and escorted by FOXTROT for touch and go landings at tactical landing zones. Due to enemy anti-air capability all airborne assets are prohibited from loitering outside of authorized sectors and must acquired authorisation from the DELTA Forward Air Controller or Platoon Sergeant.
