Situation

Background Information
With the Americans bringing up the South, Central Command now sees an opportunity for the British contingent to push across through the North. With OPERATION FURY successfully degrading hostile positions, this main effort of a rifle platoon reinforced with an armoured platoon of Challengers is looking to make quick work of three town objectives.

INTEL SUGGESTS THAT THERE ARE INFANTRY COMPANIES STATIONED AT JASTORF AND KLEIN HESEBECK ALONG WITH A HEAVY ARMOURED BATTALION IN OETZENDORF. QRF OF MOTORISED, MECHANISED AND AIR MOBILE INFANTRY IS EXPECTED.

Commander's Intent
The mission intent is to seize ground from Soviet occupation with minimal collateral damage to civilian life and property.

Tasks and Sequencing

Staging

HITMAN, ANVIL, GUARDIAN, CASTLE prepare for departure from FOB GRIFFIN. Ground combat elements form a column spearheaded by Anvil in order: Anvil - Hitman 1 - Hitman 2 - Hitman 9 - Hitman 3 - Guardian - Castle Crossing POINT LION from LD QUEEN, scheme of manoeuvre begins.

OBJ EDMUND

LD - WP A - S1 Across the bridge, ANVIL deploys a smoke screen. HITMAN begins manoeuvre SOUTHBOUND towards WP A. HITMAN pivots to form platoon line, advancing on S1 in a bound. ANVIL trails on overwatch until S1 cleared. S1 - S2 Continuing the bound through CQB, HITMAN clears S2 ensuring the EAST FLANK is covered from the MSR CENTRE before pushing. ANVIL is authorised to reposition to S1 if opportune, continue overwatch north and east. S2 - S3 HITMAN continues CQB clearing via the MSR into S3. If terrain is sufficient, east-most squad will come about AP A1 into an envelopment while centre/west squads continue close-in. ANVIL is authorised to reposition to S2 / AP A1 if opportune, continue overwatch north and east. GCE continues advance up to PL KING. Resupply.

OBJ GEORGE

PL King - T1 - T2 HITMAN forms a platoon line facing OBJ GEORGE. WEST-MOST squads follow the MSR on opposite sites. EAST-MOST squad traverses the woods, referencing a lookout tower south of T2. Sectors T1 & T2 will be assaulted simultaneously. WEST flank clears T1, then pivots east to provide cover and stage for T3. EAST flank clears T2 with support of ANVIL. Situation-depending, establish overwatch EAST or stage for T3. Resupply.

OBJ BALDRICK

PL FOOL - WP Ground combat element must traverse terrain via waypoints B1-5. Reference attached tactical map. ANVIL and Starlight will provide cover using open sight lines. HITMAN will aim to enter OBJ GEORGE via the SW flank through sector U1. Provisional scheme of clearing will be clockwise centre-facing.
