--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationNATO forces, having liberated the islands of Malden and Stratis from CSAT, now move to push CSAT out of Altis and free the islanders from tyranny for good. A Special Forces platoon moves to eliminate CSAT radar capabilities and anti-naval coastal defences defending the peninsular by executing a hit and run mission with the intention of causing as much havoc and disruption as possible to allow the invasion unit to land in force.
Friendly Forces
1 x Airborne Special Forces Platoon, complete with SUAV operator
Supporting Assets
Blackfish will be used for infil strategy. Air dropped dinghies for exfil.
Enemy Forces
The enemy is expected to have small patrols and checkpoints operating in the AO. The main enemy FOBs will have numerous infantry and some technical capability, and the naval battery has 3 x Artillary pieces. It is understood that CSAT have routed their best troops to the expected landing area of Kavala, leaving newer, less experienced troops guarding our intended AO.
Mission
TaskingIn order to facilitate the liberation of Altis from CSAT forces, NATO moves to commence a full-scale invasion of the island In order to allow landing forces to conduct their landing with ease, LIGHTNING is tasked with two primary objectives: OBJ SERPENS: The destruction of the radar emplacement preventing aerial landings OBJ PEGASUS: The destruction of enemy long range anti-naval artillery posing a threat to NATO aircraft carrier group LIGHTNING also has several secondary objectives as follows: - The destruction of Checkpoints ALPHA, BRAVO, and CHARLIE - The destruction of enemy armour stationed in or operating within the AO
End-state
After completing a HAHO jump into the AO, LIGHTNING should clear both enemy FOBs before destroying each primary objective and leaving via dinghy.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to destroy two key enemy emplacements preventing NATO forces from landing on the desired landing zone, directly ahead of the invasion itself. The commanders intent is to destroy these two threats, creating as much disruption to enemy defensive operations as possible in the process, before leaving the AO as the invasion force begins their operation.
