Situation
Background InformationAfter hours of skirmishes and artillery fire, British forces finally prepare to assault deep into the heart of Al Basra, knowing full well the brutality of what's to come ... THIS IS A CQB HEAVY DEPLOYMENT! Notice: This deployment is taking part in a doctrine trial, and more information will be posted in announcements prior to ORBAT release.
Friendly Forces
7th Armoured Brigade: - 1x Rifle Platoon, from the 1st Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers
Supporting Assets
Bravo and Charlie platoons are attacking the city at the same time. The regiment will supply the Company with logistical and medical support. WARNING: CIVILIAN PRESENCE EXPECTED IN THE CITY!
Enemy Forces
Members of the Iraqi Armed forces, loyal to Saddam Hussein, using outdated soviet equipment. It is believed, that the soldiers disguised themselves amongst the local population, by dropping their army uniforms and picking up civilian clothing. It is believed, that the enemy has no heavy armour in the city.
Mission
TaskingSecure the northern sector of Basra city.
Execution
Commander's Intent
The intent of our company's mission is to secure the northern section of central Al Basra. Alpha Platoon is tasked with securing the north-eastern sector of central basra through the northern garages, refineries and mosque.
Tasks and Sequencing
Alpha Platoon will first move to RV-RED where we will await friendly artillery fire to weaken the enemy front line before we commence our assault. The platoon will move through sectors C1 to C13 upon the discretion of the Platoon Commander as the situation may deteriorate and individual squad effectiveness may fluctuate. RV points will be used to reorganize before further assaults, including potential medical and logistical support via ZULU.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplySquads are to carry as much munition and supply as possible in order to extend our combat effectiveness duration. Platoon Resupply will be conducted at a secured and relevant RV via ZULU.
Medical
The Squad Medic and CLS of each squad is to provide whatever medical treatment they can and potentially assist with other squads if required. In the event of a severe and unrecoverable mas-cas situation, medical support and potential evacuation will be requested through ZULU.
Rules of Engagement
We do not have the facilities to accommodate CPERS during this assault and appropriate SOP is to be followed (made safe, left safe).
Fire Support Plan
Friendly artillery will be conducting strikes on the city during or assault which may continue for the duration of our operation across Basra.
