Tasks and Sequencing
CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS
The primary objective of this operation is to disrupt and destroy OPFOR rocket artillery capabilities on Polish territory. This will be accomplished by a coordinated platoon assault, supported by one Mi-24W helicopter. The operation is divided in three phases. The first phase sees the platoon assaulting and seizing Zapadlisko, with VIPER 1 taking the northern sector and VIPER 2 the southern sector. The second phase sees the platoon seize and destroy OPFOR capabilities at Kryśnik. The platoon will exploit weak perimeter security, and fight through the objective from south to north as a platoon. In the third phase, the platoon sets up battle positions to counter expected quick reaction forces. The fourth phase is only initiated should Kryśnik be considered completely secure and follow-on forces have arrived, at which point the platoon makes its way towards Sobótka to disrupt OPFOR offensive activities targeting the regional capital Topolin. In all phases, HAWK supports the movement with close air support and reconnaissance.SCHEME OF MANOEUVRE
PHASE 1: Zapadlisko
Objective: Seize Zapadlisko in order to establish a foothold in the direction of Kryśnik and support the encirclement of OPFOR troops in Borek. VIPER 1: Assault and secure the northern sector of Zapadlisko. Tasks: * Move into the northern sector from platoon assault point UNICORN * Identify and assault resistance in the designated sector * Investigate fortifications northeast side of Zapadlisko * Investigate vehicles north of main road VIPER 2: Assault and secure the southern sector of Zapadlisko. Tasks: * Move into the southern sector from platoon assault point UNICORN * Identify and assault resistance in the designated sector * Investigate vehicles south of main road HAWK: Provide close air support upon request. Provide reconnaissance to identify enemy battle positions and troop movements.PHASE 2: Kryśnik Rocket Base
Objective: Seize Kryśnik Rocket Base in order to disrupt enemy artillery capabilities VIPER 1: Gain a foothold inside Kryśnik Rocket Base, then clear the compound Tasks: * Once VIPER 2 has assumed support-by-fire positions, move to the perimeter fence and identify an appropriate breach point * Once breach point has been identified, move into the breach and secure its immediate area * Hold the breach head until VIPER 2 has moved into the base * Clear designated positions in coordination with VIPER 2 VIPER 2: Provide support-by-fire for VIPER 1 in order to allow VIPER 1 to gain a foothold inside Kryśnik Rocket Base, then clear the compound Tasks: * Assume support-by-fire positions in order to support VIPER 1 in their movement * Once the support-by-fire task is completed (at the point where no further effect of suppressive fire is expected), VIPER 2 moves up and through the same breach point and assaults first appropriate OPFOR battle position * Clears designated positions in coordination with VIPER 1 HAWK: Provide close air support upon request. Provide reconnaissance to identify enemy battle positions and troop movements.PHASE 3: Secure Kryśnik Rocket Base against quick reaction forces
Objective: Set up defensive battle positions to counter expected OPFOR counterpush VIPER 1: Assume battle positions west and neutralise any quick reaction forces Tasks: * Find appropriate positions to disrupt and ambush counterattacks from the west * Prepare for and engage OPFOR quick reaction forces VIPER 2: Assume battle positions east and neutralise any quick reaction forces Tasks: * Find appropriate positions to disrupt and ambush counterattacks from the east * Prepare for and engage OPFOR quick reaction forces HAWK: Provide reconnaissance to identify potential routes of OPFOR quick reaction forces. Provide Close Air Support upon request.PHASE 4: Sobótka
This phase will be planned in situ.Administration/Logistics
ResupplyBISHOP will primarily focus on ensuring periodic and timely resupply to the platoon during the operation. They will, in collaboration with VIPER 8, identify and coordinate good logistical resupply points from which they will provide their services. When not engaged in resupply tasks, BISHOP will be available for safely destroying key OPFOR equipment such as artillery pieces, radars and communication towers, as well as other tertiary engineer tasking as appropriate.
Medical
Mass casualty incidences are to be managed by VIPER 7. Further MEDEVAC can be organised on request, but could face delays due to the reliance on external forces.
Rules of Engagement
EPWs are to be handed over to VIPER 9. Safe transportation of EPWs to the rear is managed by BISHOP.
