Execution
Commander's IntentThe intent of this operation is to commence the siege of Kalaenoowi, securing key civilian and ancillary military objectives in the main urban centre.
Tasks and Sequencing
All sectors and objectives will be assigned based upon mission pacing and opportunity. Be prepared for flexibility in both tasking and approach. Urban fighting can be especially unpredictable and our task is to take the city with both the platoon and the city itself in one (relatively whole) piece. Phase 1 will consist of initial manoeuvre to the city in convoy, ordered by one Vortex element, VOODOO 1 through VOODOO 3, the other Vortex element then Helix and Anvil tailing until we clear a first LRP position. Routes Apple, Orange and Grape are marked as entry routes to the city, with Apple also being our initial route to the AO. Once we hit PLATOON AP ALPHA, BRAVO OR CHARLIE(or both if necessitated by the mission), for Phase 2 infantry will push to their initial objective hard and with aggression to secure a solid first position in the city. Intent is for one element to take FOB K1 and the other EITHER SEC Alpha or SEC Bravo, depending upon ingress route. The intent of phase 2 is to set up a front across the city either ALPHA-CHARLIE-DELTA or ALPHA-BRAVO-ECHO, with FOB K1 secured. Phase 3 will consist of the remaining push through the city to secure up to our LOA- RIVER JAME. Throughout, VOODOO 3 will conduct fire support utilising either terrain or structure elevation. There will be several useful high-rise structures to base a fire position from, these will be recce'd as part of our initial assault into the city.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyLRPs to be designated and set up as ammunition, fuel and repair release points. These will be set up and manned by Anvil who will either then deliver supplies to the element or have integrated element vehicles return to retrieve necessary supplies.
Medical
CCPs will be designated similarly to LRPs but may also be conducted at the LRPs themselves.
