A US soldier and Member of the Press are being swapped for a couple of Taliban lieutenants we have prisoner. Command is hoping this goes off without incident. ***RP: This Operation may become dynamic in the field. Expect the plan to likely change in the field***

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to conduct a prisoner exchange to regain control of 2 x BLUFOR hostages and RTB without shots fired.

Tasks and Sequencing
GUARDIAN will proceed from COP WINDSOR in MRAPS per fireteam driven by the fireteam. They will travel to the AO in which the exchange is to take place, the village of ANESH via the BLUFOR route. GUARDIAN will dismount ahead of ANESH and patrol in on foot doing a visual clearance of buildings on the BLUFOR side of the village. No BLUFOR are to cross the bridge or riverbed and ENEMY WILL BE VISIBLE ON THE OTHER SIDE. WE ARE NOT TO ENGAGE UNLESS INSTRUCTED. When GUARDIAN is in position with teams on each BOF position and security, the prisoner exchange will occur, with only hostages crossing the bridge. Upon receipt of BLUFOR, EOD will conduct a check in a safe place to ensure no IEDs or vests on the hostages, before taking BLUFOR hostages back to security and embarking them. At this point all GUARDIAN callsigns will retreat back to vehicles, mount up, and extract completing the mission. SL will communicate on agreed radio channel with OPFOR OIC during the exchange. Actions on: Contact on approach: Assume BLUFOR hostage casualties, and engage and destroy the enemy Contact on exchange: BOF will engage OPFOR whilst bridge team will attempt to secure both BLUFOR and OPFOR hostages, with the priority being the safety of BLUFOR over the capture of OPFOR. Utilise concealment to protect and extract. No OPFOR party turn up: OPFOR hostages RTB, operation switches to patrol using intel.
