--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationAs the sun prepares to settle for the day, US Rangers regroup for a last push across the riverbed, to capture the airfield and finally drive IS out of the capital for good...
Friendly Forces
VOODOO Infantry Platoon TITAN Armored Squadron Equipped with: 1x M1 Abrams 2x Bradleys ANVIL and HELIX callsigns on standby for logistical and medical support.
Supporting Assets
Friendly infantry holding the Frontline, while brief is underway.
Enemy Forces
This is the last major holdout of the IS forces. Expect fanatical resistance and fighting for every house to the last man. We're expecting largely infantry forces, with occasional light vehicle support. Enemy armored and aerial assets all but destroyed after the long campaign.
Mission
TaskingCross the riverbed, capture the airfield, secure any available Intel / HVT and destroy the last organized IS resistance.
End-state
Mission Success: Airfield and the entirety of KalaeNoowi in US hands. Mission Failure: IS retains parts of the capital / is allowed to disengage in an organized manner.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe intention of this mission is to remove any remaining Islamic State presence around KalaeNoowi so that we can secure the town and airfield against future IS incursion.
Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 0 We will be gearing up at the French Embassy and moving out to initial positions mounted. Voodoo 1 will mount into the two Bradleys of the Titan callsign- the squad will fit into both with squad element spread-loaded. Voodoo 2 will mount into an infantry transport truck with Anvil. Titan's MBT will provide security whilst the infantry moves into position. There will be no specific convoy. Should we need to manoeuvre infantry after the initial transit we will likely utilise the bradleys of Titan if available. Phase 1 After transit to initial positions, Voodoo 2 (V2) will set up base of fire at either one of the designated positions BOF1-A or BOF1-B or an alternate nearby position if more suitable. V2 will- with the aid of Titan- destroy visible enemies at the checkpoint, then provide overwatch for Voodoo 1 (V1) as they enter Sec 1. If the checkpoint is clearly secure, V1 will continue straight on to either AP1-A or AP1-B depending on enemy presence. From there, find an entry route and begin clearance of Sec 1. Once they are inside and exterior enemies are cleared, V2 will transit over the river and begin assault of Sec 2. Once Sec 1 and 2 are secured, the platoon will clear and use Sec 3 as position to assault into the next phase. Transit to S3 may require bounding vehicle transit with bradleys, or alternately concealed and on foot. Route Jeff marked as intended crossing area. The vehicle depot was sabotaged but may still have some occupying force so will still need to be cleared. Phase 2 Continuing forward, clearance is mostly expected to be conducted sector-by-sector and will be decided based on momentum of each team. The Barracks North objective is split into Sec 4A and 4B- if necessary we can conduct as a whole platoon based on remaining standing buildings. Alternately, we will have one squad hold exterior or move on to next sector. The Comm HQ in Sec 9 should be neutralised but we will clear the sector to be sure. Phase 3 Much like Phase 2, sectors in Phase 3 will be assigned based on momentum. I have separated the sectors- Sec 10 into A and B, Sec 11 into A-C. This should allow us to move teams to help where needed if either sector proves more/less a challenge than expected. Once clear in Sec 13, we will recce the area for any surviving or regrouping enemies and pull back to the airfield for ENDEX.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyLRPs will be designated and set-up during the operation. If Anvil are busy with a tasking we may use available vehicles from the Titan callsign or the platoon HQ vehicle to ferry supplies forward when required.
