Situation
Background InformationThree star rating: ☆little to none expected ☆☆decent amount expected ☆☆☆Heavy emphasis / main focus of Operation Expected Level of Combat : ☆ Expected Level of RP: ☆☆ Expected Difficulty: ☆ NOTE: RP HEAVY DEPLOYMENT IN A FORM OF A PRESENCE PATROL, NONE TO LOW LEVELS OF CONTACT EXPECTED A sudden increase of Taliban activity and their general terrorizing of the local population, forced the elements of the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, to conduct more frequent presence patrols in their AO. The increased patrol quantity brings more risks for the troops, but has to be done to deter the enemy. Today, 2 Section heads out on a foot presence patrol to gather information about a possible Taliban commander in the area in the aim of suppressing the sudden increase of Taliban activity for at least a little while. On patrol, they are tasked to interact with the local population as much as possible, look out and detain possible spies, as well as demonstrate a show of force.

Mission
TaskingConduct a presence patrol to suppress Taliban activity in the area and gather information about their movements.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of the mission is to gather intelligence by interacting with the local population as well as meeting with a local tribal elder.
Tasks and Sequencing
Tempest 1 will patrol the surrounding area of COP Winchester until they reach the town of Baba Rahim. Tempest 1-1 will provide security while Tempest 1 and Tempest 1-2 meet with the village people and elder to ascertain the location of the Taliban commander. Tempest 1 will then patrol back to COP Winchester and attempt to gather additional information from the local population. Optional Objective: - Investigate the location of recent Taliban Activity - Investigate the location of the recent assault on COP Winchester
